β β β β β I fondly bought a item at discount for someone... but once back home found a defective item. this is not the way to go about selling defective items under the garb of discounted sale. Pretty bad way of doing business.

β β β β β Was in there with my mom, we were on the corner near the entrance/exit where some of the earrings were displayed, my mom was interested in purchasing due to the current promotion. Suddenly the promoter went to hold the door and yelled at me "You want stay in or go out!". At least 6 other people in the shop starred at me, my mom not wanting to shop anymore due to her rudeness leaving as well. If you were closing the shop can just mention right. I work in retail and am a regular of Lovisa from Orchard and Vivo, this is not how you treat customers, and I've never been treated this way by any other staff.

β β β β β Poor service. I was queuing to go in with my kids to buy mummy a mother's day present. Waiting for a long time for my turn as they implemented maximum 5 people (i think include their staff ) in at their NEX Serangoon outlet due to social distancing measures. The sales staff told me my turn was supposedly to be after a lady in front of me queuing. Behind me was a young couple too. Unknown to us, a lady with her daughter sneakily without our attention went in. I went in and highlight to the staff. I was chided by the staff as I am not observing the social distancing measures. My kind intent was to highlight to them there is an inherent issue in terms of how they display their entry sign coupled with people jumping queue. Unfortunately, the feedback was not taken in good stride.
It's the worst horrendous shopping experience. I brought my kids over to Body Shop instead (diagonally opposite). We eventually bought a pair of hand cream for mummy. The service level has such huge disparity level between these 2 retail stores even though the product mix is different. Heaven and earth disparity when comes to staff encounter.
I hope Lovisa management staff would counsel the staff properly and improve their service level standards. I am not surprised they have closed their AMK store recently beside poor traffic flow perhaps.
Lovisa management should least find ways to motivate their staff. Example, when customers walk in, least greet the customers like a welcome note with a SMILE! Not like pulling a cucumber face. Products are not fantastic either. Oxidized easily though give and take the price you paid.
But, service level is the one that I am really flabbergasted. This is a disgrace especially when Singapore is a shopping paradise.
My recommendation is for Lovisa to really inculcate a mentality of putting customers first. I can also sense their staff as somehow de-motivated.
Never smile. Both of them pulled a long face. Both staff seems to have poor work and service level attitude issues. It's like they have woke up on the wrong side of the beds. They seem to be busy shuttling back and forth in the shop. But no where near the entrance of the shop to manage the traffic flow. I struggle to fathom behind them so busy when the shop has less than 5 people. Only 3 customers and 2 staff in one small shop.
At any one point of time, one staff should be stationed near the entrance in ensuring people don't jump queue. The shop has only 3 customers. Or least greet the customers & bother to explain why there is a need to be 3 customers at any one time in the shop. One person should be at the entrance to ensure people are entering and exiting in a timely fashion. This will eradicate confusion & unhappiness to people waiting outside to go in while giving people the opportunity to jump queue behind our backs regardless of unknowingly or knowingly. Entry sign marks on the floor should also be displayed prominently and not have the folding gate cover the floor mark completely. Or put up a queue pole outside directing traffic flow.
I will NEVER PATRONIZE Lovisa again regardless if it's Serangoon or other island-wide outlets. Don't spend your money in a shop where the staff are rude. Spend money yet make our blood boil. Thumbs down for service level at NEX Serangoon outlet. I would rate them a - 5 stars vis a vis a 5 stars service level.
There should be a service level feedback box at the counter to monitor the staff's service level performance from an accountability and ownership angle. If not, these staff would have a "can't be bothered" & nonchalant attitude.
I have dropped a complaint note to their Lovisa website. Hoping to hear if their management will ever provide a proper explanation. Just waste of my & kids time. The young couple behind me gave up & walked away after waiting for a long time. I can tell they are fed up too.
Blessing in disguise & a consolation. We eventually got something better & more affordable for mummy at Body Shop instead!

β β β β β I had a bad experience here and have never, ever shopped here again..I was with my very young daughter back then, who had only reached out to touch a necklace lightly. Just to be cautious, I also gently prevented my child from touching too many things in case she damaged or messed anything up. However, a staff immediately came over and rudely shook out the necklaces and said no kids were allowed here to touch things. I apologised and left but totally regretted my apology. Other customers and the staff member were handling items even more roughly than my child. I don't even know why the staff had to straighten things out when nothing had been moved.
My takeaway from this is that Lovisa does not welcome parents to the shop, so don't visit if you have children.
