A customer thought it was too much to pay S$11 for cai png or economy rice with fish at a hawker centre. Members from the online community confirmed unanimously that the meal was a ripoff. “I paid S$11 for lunch this morning. I bought this from a neighbourhood market. I know fish is expensive, but come on, is this too much. Inflation or robbery?” asked netizen u/Dagachi_One in a Reddit forum on June 15. A photo of the meal in a transparent plastic container consisted of a piece of fish, some yong tau foo and rice.

Stall #01-25 Good portion for $3.50. Taste ok. Fishballs can be nicer taste.

First time to this place and was here due to review on 3 Sisters Prawn Noodle. When I was there this time it was disappointing that so many stores are closed. But fortunately the one I wanted to try was open, there is a lot hidden gems here and most importantly relatively clean and price is really like good old days of Singapore where quantity and quality matters.

23 Jun 2022: Reasonably nice prawn noodle from the 3 SISTERS PRAWN NOODLE. Old school version and the soup flavorful too. Enjoyed our coffee from TECK HUAT COFFEE ROTI. 27 Apr 2022: Not a big hawker centre but enough stalls serving local favorites at affordable prices. HOUSE OF LI XIANG…the Mee Siam is super shiok, very rich flavor and pretty generous serving too. ZHEN MING PORK RIBS PRAWN NOODLE…ordered the dry and soup version; nice presentation, old school taste  and enjoyed the flavorful soup.

Fantastic Vietnamese Food at #01-26. The dry version of pho comes with grilled chicken / pork, fried spring roll and lotsa vegetable has a good balance of savoury and refreshing taste. Best of all, it’s only SGD4.50.

The vietnamese food stall is my family’s favourite. Tried most of their selection. Ordered chicken noodle soup, chicken chop rice, 4 spring roll, 2 x Banh Mi (burger) for only $23! It would cost more than $70 in a vietnamese restaurant.

Roughly 40 stalls in the food centre. Crowd was pretty alright for a Saturday 11ish. Around 60/65% of the stalls were opened at this time. Quite alot of cheap options, alot of stalls offering dishes at $3/3.5 even during covid period. Tried two of the more popular stalls, 453 wanton noodle & Zhen Ming pork rib prawn noodle. Felt both were kinda meh in my opinion. Definitely average considering the queue that is formed for both stalls.

Finally found the kind of wanton mee that I have missed for a long time. Great taste of 3 big wanton, and flavourful noodle with chilli. For $3.50 it's a great value meal. The coffee is amazingly nice, for only $1.10. The best part is don't need to go queue and buy, the moment you sit down, a lady will come and ask if you like to order drinks. Update 30 Apr2022: The carrot cake brings back the taste of good old time. Simple and flavourful. $2.
