β β β β β This is definitely a place to try milkfish. The portion is generous and the service is very good (though itβs an elderly lady, she explain everything very well). The grilled milkfish was the show's star; it is well created, grilled to just lovely (not overcooked). The deep-fried prawn roll is done to perfection. The soup with grouper is considered an expensive dish, yet you can get it for a reasonable price range. I highly recommend you pick the option for two people (bring someone along that is willing to share food with you). Choose between different varieties of rice/noodles to complete your meal.

β β β β β Signature Soup Set. An unusual sight is when a dish that is commonly found at food centre is now served in a pretty nice setting, I,e,. in a shopping centre. The usual Batang fish has also been "upgraded" to a Taiwan favourite Milkfish. If you like robust tasting broth, this one is a must visit.

β β β β β We had very much ordered and sampled everything on their menu. A normal set meal will set one back about $20 a head.
The signature dish is more a Singapore style milky white fish head soup than the Taiwan style clear soup with julienne ginger which I absolutely love whenever back in Tainan. Furthermore they've removed the best part of the milkfish, that is the skin which in my opinion is where all the goodness and rich flavors of the milkfish is held.
The grilled whole milkfish wasn't bad at all. Although personal preference is for a much simpler salt grilled.
Some very common Taiwanese cold and side dishes fills the menu. The microwaved mochi though ought to be taken off the menu.
Worthy a visit for the uninitiated.

β β β β β Soup and chili is superb! The meat patty in the soup is super delicious. Soup is tricky and creamy with the natural fat from the fish but not from any added milk.
Grilled fish belly is great with the soy sauce based dip but the fish itself is slightly fishy probably due to the high fat content.
Love the salad - mix of glass noodles, seaweed and soy products are refreshing.
Cherry tomatoes were probably marinated with sugar - a bit too sweet for my liking.

β β β β β Not my kind of fish soup but service was good and quick/efficient, place was clean.
Price very affordable for the portion.
Love the sour salad that comes with the signature soup set.
Portion is rather big! If you are hungry, the portion might be just right for you.

β β β β β The soup is very fresh and flavourful but the price is not very economical. The raw fish is also very fresh and the ingredients all taste of high quality. To be honest, it is just like paying for very expensive seafood or fish soup at your local hawker that has a very long queue. One wouldn't recommend always dining at this place due to the comparision of the value and food served. Recommended for the quality and taste but not the price.

β β β β β The best simple and heart warming dish. It is slightly pricey, but understand given they are in the mall and most likely due to rent so it is fair priced.
Their menu is super simple, super uncomplicated. We pick the traditional set and also the soup with tofu. And it was super delicious and delightful. The barley is a must try. If you are with a bigger party then order the duo combo set for the best of everything.
Highly recommend when you are in Raffles City or their other branch.
As a bonus every team members is super super friendly. I don't think I remember many regular outlet treat guest like a niece visiting their uncle and aunty.

β β β β β Reviews seemed mixed, but decided to give it a go since it rained today. And what a perfect comfort meal to end off our day. We ordered the combo set for two (total $47) which we felt was value-for-money. The star of the set was no doubt the grilled milk fish belly, with a sweet & savoury sticky marinate that was nicely balanced with a squeeze of lemon. The fish was filleted, fresh and decently-portioned.
The fish/seafood soup was light and flavourful enough, but nothing I would return for. It featured standard fare ingredients such as prawns, clams, fish slices, tofu, and veggie. What I did like, was that it paired well with the other βheavierβ dishes in the combo. I went for puffed rice while my partner went for multi-grain rice, both of which may not be as filling for someone with a huge appetite.
Service was prompt, and staff was quite attentive, even coming around to check on the food β this is quite atypical of casual Chinese F&B joints, which is to be lauded. Only thing to note is that I speak mandarin, which perhaps made it easier to converse with the wait staff. This may not apply for non-mandarin speaking customers.
Overall, it was a good dining experience, and I would be open to dropping by again (with dining partners) if Iβm in the vicinity.
