MOONBOW - Block 10 Dempsey Rd

This place definitely got lost in the theatrics. 1 star for the amazing display of interior design and food presentation. I’m not a picky eater and I came here starving as all the places in Dempsey were full. The service was pretty slow even though it was not crowded. When I had my starters, I honestly had a glimpse of what having COVID and losing my taste was like. The food was so pretty but there was no taste?? Burata tasted like water…. The beef carpaccio was definitely sub par beef that they torched and it’s was more cooked than raw. We waited a long while till our mains came and table that came after us was served first. When the food finally came, they missed the fries and instead of apologising for it the waitress just said “I will order for you now”. Should have checked if I still wanted it and just admit they forgot to key it in. The ribs was so dry and I couldn’t eat it. Bear in mind I was hungry yet I couldn’t swallow it. Worst than ribs from Outback Steakhouse or Astons. The fries was the only thing that was good. We paid and went somewhere else for another meal after this. I really hope they would do something about the food as the place is too beautiful for this restaurant to go down over terrible food.

Lovely dishes here that is European food with Asian Influence. They have alot of sharing plates, swipe for menu and prices. The 4 days aged Tomahawk is very flavourful and tender, suitable for sharing. If ladies, perhaps can have 3 pax to share. Also especially love the Unagi Brioche, silkie black poulet (black chicken), chilli crab pasta!

Impeccable service. Thank you Chef Heman for bringing education to your creations. We can feel your heart in your palatable food art. Sight, smell and taste a feast. Food from the heart for a nice dinner night out. Blessed! ~J & S~

Overall awesome dinning experience with MOONBOW ! The place is beautiful and service staffs are warm and professional even though I can see they may understaffed. Food are amazingly delectable. Kudos to Chef Heman, Chef Darren and the team. I am definitely going back.

Service was good. Gwen and the team take pretty good care of you and guests. Ambiance is clean, calming and quiet making it a good for Colleagues or friends catch ups. Food is interesting, presentation impeccable, ("case in point", the Salmon and chips luggage picture here, a personal favourite). Food while presented well leads to a higher expectation in flavors (given the amazing presentation and concept which is well executed) which lead my palette expecting a bit more. I would go back and all in all a good place to dine. It just didn't "sing" as well as it looked to me.

Wonderful find.. first visit with a friend, was so impressed with the set lunch that went a second time in 2 weeks with the family. Food was super yummy on both occasions, lovely ambience and great service. Set lunch with cauliflower bloom, beef short ribs and creme brûlée cempedak. For dinner we tried the paella and porterhouse steak for sharing on top of small plates of beef tongue, mushroom croquette, gambas prawns. Whole family enjoyed the dinner, and thanks to the chef for coming out to say hello.

The presentation looks pretty, the rest goes down hill from there. The soup came in a kettle, then poured into the plate, fine dining style. It tastes bland, the stock used is definitely subpar. Others dishes followed the same pattern, nice plate, and taste...what taste? The chef apparently pays no attention to the taste of the food. Not sure if he doesn't know how to cook or think his customers don't care.

The oyster is one of the best I have ever tried, as it’s with Yuzu sauce, very fresh. The Caesar salad is interesting with a fried egg. Sea urchin avocado is also very creamy and tasty. The view from the restaurant is nice with the green field in front.
