Jul 2019. Was here to get something from the supermarket on a Sunday morning. Chanced upon this cafe. At first, i wanted to leave the queue because it was difficult for a lone person like to get a seat in this crowded cafe. I tried my luck anyway. I ordered the signature fish ball noodle, it was not cheap but what the heck. It was awesome. The chilli sauce and chilli padi left me sweating. The fish balls were not overwhelmingly starchy and i liked the salted fish bringing out the flavour.

Bee boon has a chao-ta wok hei. Prata too oily (like it’s deep fried).

Lovely snack shop at the basement of Bukit Timah Plaza. It’s a weekend so many parents were there with the kids (perhaps after their enrichment classes). So I kinda liked the family atmosphere. Lots of choices of snacks to choose from. We ordered toast sets and Chee cheong fun + yam cake. It’s standard local fare, but all were quite delicious. There’s mains here too, so if you are around Bukit Timah looking for affordable meals, you can come by and have a bite!

The menu looks promising and based on the reviews it probably usually tastes alright. Not a Sunday night though. Most of the menu was not available, such as their laksa, mee rebus, fishball noodles, etc. They offered Charsiew onion egg over noodles without egg, and curry chicken prata without chicken. Curry was rather salty. Otherwise good for a quick meal.

Old school style eatery in Bukit Timah Plaza basement serving the locals who are familiar with his comfort fare like toast, eggs and hot drinks. It has a good laksa yong tau food which is very tasty and served with cheong fun not noodles. Definitely worth a try to see if food is to your palate.

1 roll of cheong fun and 1 slice of 2in thick yamcake cost 3.90. That's super exorbitant for food that is warmed up by microwave. Won't eat here again.
