★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It wasn’t easy to get a reso here but I did it! Came on 3rd Jan (Fri night) and I was dining solo. Ended up making friends with the couple seated beside me. Overall I cannot fault the menu - my fave dishes were the squid rojak and mee rebus. Service was awesome and the whole ambience is very cosy. No doubt I’ll be back as the menu changes every few months!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed their food since their private dining days, and now that they’ve set up shop, have continued to enjoy the food nonetheless! Flavours are familiar, so people who are wary of the type of food served need not worry too much. Really love the cute chopstick holders too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was truly an omakase experience worth every penny as it ticked all the boxes.
The fusion dishes were tastefully done with delicate flavours that shone with every bite, really appreciate the touch of utilizing local produce as well.
The drink selection was delightfully curated and unconventional, with knowledgable staff guiding our drink choices to cap off a very lovely evening.
Will drop by again for the next menu rotation!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been fortunate enough to eat here several times, and I will definitely keep coming back. I would give Mustard Seed 11 stars out of 5 if I could - from the first meal at Chef Ming's home private dining a few years ago, every meal has been exceptional. I'm constantly astounded by not only the constantly creative dishes that Ming and Shin churn out, but also by their execution. Seems impossible for every dish to be delicious, but they have really been.
Service is impeccable and warm, like eating at a friend's place (if your friend is insanely talented). For me, hands down best restaurant in Singapore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have tried the food by Ming Kiat and his wife ShinYin many times, back from when they were cooking out of their home and doing private dining. The food is honest, heart warming and comforting. The reservations are difficult but it is worth the effort. Ignore the bad reviews from people who complain, especially if they haven’t been. And also from those who complain because they try to flout the current social distancing and dining restrictions. Truly a unique Singaporean experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve had the privilege of dining here a couple of times including once this month. It’s pretty difficult to get reservations if your fingers aren’t nimble enough. Out of the few times they were, every meal was a memorable hit.
Their cuisine borrows influences from Singapore, Malaysia and sometimes Japan and I can’t really find another place serving anything similar which makes this place really special. Every bite is an explosion of flavours, yet delicate enough to not de-sensitise the palate. I would always come back if ever presented the opportunity.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Aiyooo.....so hard to score a reservation at this 13 seater restaurant.
We really liked the simplicity of the layout and decor (not much decor actually hahaha ?) as well as the crockery used.
Each dish was carefully crafted and the contents of it was explained by the owner himself.
There's no definite cuisine per se, just different ingredients coming together to create a very palatable meal.
Depending on the dish, it felt I was eating Vietnamese or Japanese or Peranakan or Italian!
I guess that's the beauty of an omakase meal. Just eat what's in front of you!
Superbly good! Went away feeling full and happy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very well hidden treasure.
Pretty, yummy food prepared by very talented chefs in a nice comfortable atmosphere. A wonderful culinary experience that captures the essence of our local food and gave me a different perspective of what the dishes could be. A lot of attention was given to the details of each dish and you can tell a lot of “heart” was put into it.
Really appreciated the energy and sincerity of the chefs too. The sake pairing was amazing.
Menu changes every two months, will definitely be back to try their new menu!!
