β β β β β I was having a gathering dinner with the family over here. The food taste okay but over price, however, the service wasn't good for our experience.
Although we were just sitting near the bar counter, it is still difficult for us to call the staff for some help when there is no many guests in the restaurant at all.
Upon making payment, the staff return back our credit card. But the card become super oily and we need to wipe few times to clean it up.

β β β β β Sadly this place has taken a poor change of direction. Wine list has switched from good quality wines with a reasonable mark up to average wines with a 3-4 times mark up. Ordered sparking water and was told they only had cans of sodaβ¦ bill comes and that was 6.50++! Used to be a great place but I wonβt be returning again. Pity as the food is decent

β β β β β Asked to sit down for a quick coffee. Was shown to enter by the exit. Unbelievable. Then asked where I could sit. Said I could sit anywhere after I ordered the coffee. Service was atrocious and just could not be bothered just becos I wanted to sit down for a coffee. BTW, the place was empty at 12.20pm when I visited. At least the Barista made a good latte for me and served the coffee to me with a smile. Come on, up your service especially when there is no customers.

β β β β β Hard to find a good Italian joint with reasonable prices and good coffee! They use illy coffee beans. We had the pesto fusilli (first pic) with burrata and the fish and chips. Desserts - creme catalana (creme brΓ»lΓ©e with orange, lemon and cinnamon infusion instead of vanilla) and panna cotta. Yum!

β β β β β Iβve been here several times for lunch. I love d.o.c. so I was keen to try Osteria and like the concept. However, I find the execution and consistency to be hit and miss in terms of both taste and service. The sandwiches are also pricey for what they are. Pictured below is their New York pastrami, which was a regrettable choice. I knew I was in trouble when I saw them making it as thatβs not pastrami and itβs not how pastrami would or should be served. Itβs basically overcooked roast beef with some black pepper. The meat doesnβt taste cured at all and is completely lacking in smokiness. Itβs also cut way too thick. Also pictured below is their Bologna sandwich with mortadella. Itβs pretty sad considering what youβre paying. Mortadella is not an expensive cold cut and charging so much for a sandwich with just a few meager slices doesnβt feel like good value. I ended up adding a bit of ham and some cheese at home before eating it. The focaccia on which their sandwiches are made is decent but itβs also cheap and easy to make, so either lower the price or give a more substantial sandwich or both. Their pastas are all right, though I expected a bit more flavor from the lamb ragout. The ravioli were nice. The pizzas looked good but I havenβt tried one. Will update this if I do. Here, unlike at d.o.c., theyβre baked in an electric oven but nothing wrong with that. They also do decent salads. Not a bad place for a coffee or a meal. They just need to work the kinks out of the service so that things run a little smoother and improve the value proposition here and there. Overall, Iβd say the three star rating is a bit of a gift but two stars seems too harsh, so Iβll let it ride for now.

β β β β β A place to chill with friends and share the food. Taste wise, it has been pretty good for the few visits I made. It may not be all that special but it does not disappoint me.

β β β β β 5 star ambient, 3 star pasta. I did not enjoy my carbonara. Just tasted oily and not creamy. Wifeβs pasta was a little over cooked too. The only thing good that night was the appetiser - Calamari in tomato sauce loaded with capers. Great ambient though.
