★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had such an amazing experience at LUKA on a fine Sunday evening. Reservations were easily made online and food was served swiftly.
For the first course, we had the Whipped Bottarga Cream & Pretzel. Pretzel was super soft and fragrant, which complimented the Bottarga Cream really well.
We then ordered the daily special, which was the Limone Affumicata Salmone Pizza. It consists of smoked salmon, ikura, cherry tomatoes, creamy lemon sauce and topped with dill. The portion was quite big for 2 people after ordering 2 main courses but however, we managed to finish it.
As it’s my boyfriend’s special day, I decided to splurge a little and order the Tomosankaku A4 Japanese Wagyu Beef (150g). I’m quite amazed by how LUKA made this high quality, “melt in mouth” beef with such a decent price tag. Some parts of it were quite chewy, but nevertheless it was really well done (not the beef tho).
Saving the best for the last, the MVP of the night… Mentaiko and Ikura Spaghetti. This is the best pasta I’ve ever had. Maybe because I’m an obsessed fan of mentaiko, but everything about this dish was perfect.
My experience here at LUKA was very memorable. Aside from the slightly noisy guests behind us, this was probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in 2021.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent italian food. Tuna tatare and mentaiko pasta were great. Their pasta texture was al dente and tasted like it was made fresh in house. Pizza dough was really good and fluffy. Will be back!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A revisit 4 years later. First was 2018.
Enjoyed their seafood Omakase appetisers very much. This time round, I’m pleasantly surprised by refreshing flavours brought about by the appetisers. oyster was my fav. I should have ordered ala carte. Ikura pasta was creamy enough for my liking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food tasted pretty average and the portion is tiny for the price. The pizza was really small for $27. The service is unfortunately bad. The staff all seem inexperienced and most of them look like they don’t know what they’re doing. The first order came twice and one of the pasta orders did not arrive at all until I reminded them. Turns out the order for it was not taken. I only managed to eat after everyone else has finished their mains. The staff also do not pay attention to what each person has ordered. When my pasta finally arrive, he placed it infront of someone who’s already had her pasta finished.
I don’t think this is a place I’d want to come back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you’re craving a ‘real’ pizza, with a soft dough that’s crispy yet also soft, warm and light within, that also has toppings that aren’t drowning in so much cheesy you wonder if you’re eating anything but dairy, Luka may be worth a visit. We tried a chicken pizza that was maybe drizzled in slightly too much mayo, but the chicken itself was still tasty. While the vegetarian pizza had enough flavour to occupy all taste buds. But for me the dough and oven magic made these pizza’s the real deal. The meatball and shrimp starters were also great, but the real reason for coming is the pizzas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food took more than an hour to arrive and was average. Pizza dough was chewy and hard to bite through. Toppings were average? Buffalo cheese was nice with balsamic, but it’s… buffalo cheese. You can buy buffalo cheese and drizzle balsamic and get the exact taste at home. It’s not particular to this restaurant. Not the experience I anticipated after reading the reviews. Not sure if they were having an off day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m usually skeptical about fusion food, and the description in the menu did not help with that. But boy, I was pleasantly surprised with what Luka had to offer. Everything was flavourful and not too overwhelming. The texture of the pastas and pizza were great. The portion was just right for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A strong contender for a best Singapore pizza title!
A cozy Italian place that grants you great experience of European cuisine in Singapore.
Oven baked pizzas there are must try. The only complaint is that dough is too fluffy, but it doesn't affect the perfect flavour.
Fresh bread and pasta left a pleasant feeling too.
They have a very affordable lunch menu.
