Parker Korean Restaurant - 209 Upper Thomson Rd

Really homey and tasty Korean food. Been here multiple times. Vintage decor and interesting collections of Korean artifacts. You may only choose to refill two small dishes for once. Don’t understand the negative reviews. This is not a hawker center, main dish is around 20.

The store looks a bit dreary, but the food is good and the portions are filling. It's not going to satisfy everyone, but it's a good place to have lunch/dinner if you're in the area. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but it's not a deal-breaker. Do have to note that the store is very understaffed as it's just the family. Might also have some difficulty with English, so speak slowly and clearly when ordering. Food 4/5 Decor 2/5 Portions 3/5 Price 3/5 Service 3/5

Came here with my family, who don't take pork or beef. Ordered the Seafood Pancake, Grilled Mackerel, Ginseng Chicken, Fried Chicken and the Tteokbokki. Food tasted extremely fresh and service was excellent, with reasonable prices. There was a very nice homely atmosphere as well and I felt very comfortable. Will definitely be back.

Visited on Fri evening, quite packed around 730pm. Overall experience was ok, small family business, portion quite big, taste wise ok, no wow.

I like the simple vintage deco of the restaurant. Taste wise hot plate chicken is too sweet. Beef rib soup is fine. In general the tastes is not very fantastic. The nearby corner Korean restaurant tastes better actually. The best is still the Haw Par Villa that Ju Shin Jung Korean restaurant, I would drive 20mins down to that one for Korean food rather than walk 1min to this one…

Went on a weekend dinner time, crowd started streaming in around 6-7pm, but there were still enough seats. Seem like the restaurant is managed by 2 staff + a chef (?) but still very efficient. Ordered the Squid+pork belly hotplate, tofu kimchi stew and, rice cake (tteokbokki). Personally not a fan of the pork belly as it has a gamey taste, as do many pork belly in other places. The tofu stew was nice and homey. The rice cake dish was special, the sauce seemed different from others I have had. The rice cake also had a good bounce to it, but remained adequately soft. We were also given free flow side dishes. Enjoyed the potato salad very much! All in all, 3.5 stars!

Not your authentic Korean food. $16 pork kimchi stew that ridiculously only had 2 slice of thin pork in it. The rest of ingredients are mostly kimchi with a few slice of tofu. Asked for a potato side dish and was told that it’s chargeable since I only ordered one dish. $2 for a table spoonful of potato is a rip off considering this is usually provided free in other restaurants. Water is chargeable at $1 too. They have changed a lot from a year ago. Service is bad, miserable portions, not coming back. UPDATE: Looking at the owner’s response makes me feel sorry for the chef, whom I understand are his elderly parent as he claimed. Perhaps you should reflect on your service standards as these are usually the trigger point for negative ratings. Your monotone hostile way to speak “No we don’t give potato salad because you ordered only one dish. You have to purchase it separately”. It’s your hostile tone and way to speak that triggered everything. There are way more polite ways of responding, at least with a smile. On your remark about my exaggeration, well it can be subjective but didn’t I upload a photo of it? Great way of responding again.

Taste wasn’t bad… soup was ok. Pork was also ok. Not really so wow but I would go again. But they could update their decor
