β β β β β 1st and last time to ever try Cathay's Platinum Movie Suites @Orchard Cineleisure. First & foremost due to Covid, i understand that certain services are not available, like the call button on the seats is not functioning as they dont provide the ordering services for food & drinks. But what makes it worst is that when i checked their main website, they blatantly promoted the food menu. Hence the reason why i chose to pay the premium price and expected the so call platinum experience for my wife & I. To my dismay upon arrival at the platinum movie suites, the staff at the counter informed me that no food was available and they only served nachos and nuggets. She even mentioned that the website was updated to inform the patrons. We chose to skip dinner so that we could try out their food which was showcased on their website. I even tried to suggest if i could order food from outside and consume in the lounge but was declined. So my wife & I had to rush off to the nearest restaurant to have a quick meal. We made it back in time for the movie and the same staff informed us that if we would like to order any snacks & drinks, we could do so by coming to the counter. The movie was at 8pm and midway, i decided to order a drink. At 915pm, to my surprise the counter was closed. I ventured to the kitchen and asked the staff if i could order a drink. He told me that the counter was already closed. Besides the comfortable seats and good movie, i wouldnt advise anyone to patronise their platinum movie suites. I had always gone for GV's Gold class but had decided to try Cathay for a change. The price difference wasnt much but try it at your own risk the so called platinum experience. Just spoilt my whole day with such a bad experience.

β β β β β I went to Cineleisure Platinum Movie Suites and I'm rating my experience as 2 stars for these reasons. 1) As this is my first time in Platinum Movie Suites, I booked my seats online. Considering that I paid $28 per seat, I assumed that all seats would be equally good, so I booked the first row (mainly because I've been to Gold Class GV in vivo city many times and the first rows are great ). This time, I arrived to the theatre and to my dismay the first row is so close to the screen that sitting there would make me dizzy and have a neck pain at the end of the movie. How can they make these seats so close to the screen making the movie unwatchable and charge $28 per seat?
Second reason for the 2 star rating:
Looking around, I saw that 70% of the theatre was still empty. So, I went back to the office counter to let them know we would like to swap seats, and for that they want to charge$5 seat swap surcharge. Couldn't believe it. I paid them$62 for two tickets and drinks and they wanna charge me additional $5, for a 70% empty theatre? So, in essence, if I was not willing to pay the $5 extra for swapping seats, they would rather I have an awful experience after paying them$62 while most of the seats stayed empty. What kind of company policy is this?
I know this wasn't the fault of the staff as they're instructed by the manager to uphold this policy but Cathay should reconsider this policy. If the theatre had been full, or if the first rows had been cheaper than the other seats in the theatre, I would understand this rule. But, the theatre was nearly empty.
The theatre was otherwise nicely designed and they gave complimentary snack, and the seats were super comfy. I would have really enjoyed my visit here today if it wasn't for the first row. For people reading this review, avoid the first row at all costs.
Maybe the management will see this review and they might choose to change it or they might not, but either way, I won't be using Platinum Movie Suites in the future.

β β β β β Recliner seat was comfy but leather was a little worn and old. Staff was friendly and rendered good service to clean one of the seats, as well as to serve the food platter that was decently prepared. A pampering experience for a couple!

β β β β β Satisfactory experience at the Platinum Suites for a 2 hour movie session. Ticket holders are entitled to a choice of snack (popcorn/nachos), a mains platter and drinks. While the staff at the counter was patient and conscientious in explaining the different food choices, the experience was lacklustre due to a lack of utensils and serviettes provided for the main platter. Food was limp, cold and unappetising; nothing spectacular to shout about.
Seats are fairly comfortable; however the seat buttons were a tad tough to figure out and navigate while in the dark. A blanket was also provided for patrons to keep warm. Seat raises allow patrons to stretch their legs albeit at a very low angle. Washroom facilities were bare as there was only 1 toilet cubicle for the suites' patrons. Overall, a decent but unforgettable experience at the Suites.

β β β β β Love the chairs and comforter blankets here, the tables are nice in that they have a swinging section over your legs, so you don't spill on yourself, and plenty of room if you order a large amount. There food quality is ok but trends towards fried snacks rather than gourmet meal. Recommend the caramel popcorn. Nice staff.

β β β β β Comfortable seats and plenty of space in lounge, but very limited snack options, no blankets (during Covid), and viewing angle makes this a 3/5 star experience.

β β β β β Absolutely loved Cathay's Platinum Suites experience. Priced slightly cheaper than GV's Gold Class, the experience that they offered was way better.
Though they may not have a extensive menu like GV, the ticket comes with a free food platter, free drinks and free popcorn. The seats were also very comfortable, they even provided us with comfy blankets. Totally an unforgettable experience that's worth it. Will be back.

β β β β β Decent for the price of admission, but not up to expectations.
Upon entering the the platinum suite, an empty lounge sans refreshments greets the eye. While comfortable, there is nothing to do around the lounge while awaiting the start of your film. Both platinum suite halls and the lounge are served by a lone toilet, making the facilities appallingly lacking in capacity.
While cold, a quilt was provided with each seat. Seats from the second row onwards are at a good enough elevation relative to the screen.
Complimentary food is served during the screening, but the quality of is nothing to write home about.
The staff neglected to include utensils, and a serviette was also spared.
Although priced at a premium, viewers are not spared the 15 minutes of commercials preceding the film.
While worth a try, the price of a platinum suite ticket for what you get is not worthwhile for routine film screenings.
