Had a rather wondeful 1N stay, finally utilised the Super Long Foodie Escapade Stay (purchased 2020, with $288 nett dining credit for select restaurants only). Pros - Hotel is located at fringe of Orchard Road, but serviced by a bus stop directly outside hotel (bus 36 drops directly from changi airport, same bus brings you along orchard road stretch as well). Tanglin Mall is 3min walk, Forum is 10min walk, Dempsey area is 5min by bus (away from orchard). - We got early check-in / late check-out and was upgraded to Premium Room (guranteed per package), located on 12th floor (top floor), with bed facing floor-to-ceiling windows, but doesn't open out. - Package also includes Club Benefits (comes with complimentary services like high tea 2 - 4pm, cocktails 530 - 730pm, no reservations required), and choice of breakfast at Club Room (11th floor) or Basilico (2nd floor). Go for the latter, as spread and spacing is better! - Room is decently sized (2 large luggage is ok, + luggage rack in room), and power twin power outlets on both sides of bed. Bed came with 4 rectangle bolsters of good size (like a king pillow on 50% discount). Hotel was also very generous with bottled water (we counted at least 10 bottles in room / mini fridge), probably due to recent increased humidity / heat in SGP. TV swivels out (at least 50inch), so getting HDMI cables in is a breeze here. - Toilet has good space, and plenty of ledges / wall hooks to hang items. Hotel uses refillable L Occitane toiletries (but affixed to shower area). - Wardrobe had proper hanging space / hangers. Cons - Bed is rather tall (kids and shorter folks might find a challenge / danger). Old school lighting also means there are a couple of lights that needs to be manually switched off. - Toilet wise, shower area is also bath-tub, with only half screen used ie water / shampoo gets out easily to dry area, had to clean up abit post shower. While water pressure / temperature in toilet is easy to control, the shower fittings felt dated, especially overhead shower head (that matches badly with half shower screen). Seniors / kids need to beware wet toilets! - Hair dryer can only be used outside the toilet (as toilet power outlet somehow doesn't allow its use), and even if used near pantry area, length of hairdryer cord is too short to be pulled nearer to full length mirror beside wardrobe. - Breakfast at Basilico does not permit sleeveless gentleman to enter (even if you are coming from a walk etc), but sleeveless ladies are ok. When i asked the staff why, was told hotel policy rationale was gentleman's armpit hair might unknowingly drop into food during DIY buffet service. Asked the staff thrice to no avail, had to quickly go back to room to put on a t-shirt over the sleeveless one, eat up, then go back to room to remove t-shirt (as going for walk post brek). However, i don't see staff checking sleeveless ladies for armpit hair, nor see sleeveless gentleman raising well shaved armpits to enter with pride. Real breakfast bummer of a hotel policy! Gentleman, pls shave and help me prove if it is really sleeveless gentleman only, or any armpit hair is the tangle here. - 4 elevators at lobbies, but somehow only 2 sets of buttons available to call the lifts (i find it rather irritating to try to determine if lift X has a button, or is it lift Y next to it that has it). - If you are using private car service eg Grab, Tada, Gojek, do note the hotel has a no waiting policy for such cars (mine was told to go out and around again, even though its early morning, and there was plenty space to wait). Again, quirk of the hotel policy here. - Guests are entitled to 15% dining discount (on selected inhouse restaurants), but if you are bought dining credits to use for your stay, the 15% discount will ONLY apply after your credits are utilised on standard prices. Was told by front desk that as dining credits are 'special', thus dining discount would not apply first. I am not sure how much guests can eat, bur certainly 15% here buys the hotel m lore than

Summer Palace - for the high price you are paying, there's hit and miss dishes that's completing not worth the $. Don't order the coffee spare ribs or braised noodle with cod fish in xo sauce, so bad that its impossible to finish! They tasted like chemistry class gone wrong. Sticky marinates and weirdly strong flavours. You would expect every dish to be at least edible but nope.

Went to the Tanglin room for a wedding lunch. The food from Summer Palace was very delicious especially the steamed fish, the yuzu with crumbled cracker base cake was a nice twist for a Chinese cuisine lunch. The place has an old world charm with it's high ceiling. The service staff were very professional and helpful. They check with the host before lowering the shades because of the glare from the sun. Even the chef personally came to our table to explain about certain unidentified ingredients. Kudos to the staff.

My husband and I had the high tea set at the Tea Lounge to celebrate his birthday, and there was a miscommunication over the tea set (Chope had indicated it was a buffet, but in actuality that was only for the weekend high tea). However, Mr Ramesh handled the situation with grace and resolved it to our immense satisfaction. The service recovery was smooth and genuine and the afternoon tea set was delectable and left us wanting to come back for the weekend buffet session. We left with much happiness over an excellent birthday meal. Thank you!

Despite its appearance, the interior is the wow factor. It looks way more grand internally and I like the plants at each level which lifts the impression of the hotel. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and overall it was a nice experience

It's been a long time since i visited this hotel. Here for a wedding luncheon. Food is not great?, service was good though. Not too sure what is lacking but the luxurious ambience of a 5 star hotel is not there anymore.

I loved it! Cleaners did a great job of the room every time. Friendly reception. Itโ€™s well with the price and the restaurant basillico was lovely at breakfast. Provide a comb, emery board, body lotion, q-tips and more in the bathroom.

Stayed here for our anniversary, we had a great experience. The hotel deco is opulent but classy, everything is so well maintained. A great gem acquired by the IHG group. The dining promotion is generous (20% till end of 2022) so definitely it's something to consider as the hotel houses a few Michelin listed restaurants and of course, a Asia top 50 bar.
