Puteca Abate - 86 Neil Rd

Came here because pastaria was full for the night, the food is pretty good here. This is the sister? Or is it brother, why do people always say sister branch? Ok I digress. This is the sister branch of Pastaria which is further down the street from Shake shack, however they specialize only Paninis here. For those who don't know, Panini is like a sandwich but not a sandwich , ok don't stone me, but yes the bread is slightly harder and crispier. No I didn't say hard like a stone jesus...ok whatever. They do serve other food items other than Paninis. Pizza is crazy food and the crust is chewy too. They have top 4 pasta sellers from Pastaria here too but you will not know about it because, jeng jeng jeng there is no menu here. Ok I get it, COVID is here and menus are high touch items but good Lord who would know what an insalata is? Ok yes I know if its insalata Ceasar then yes Ceasar salad but, really are we all italians here? Menus will definitely be helpful on top of the already helpful service staff. Affordable too if you have read this far.

I guess they’ve moved from Katong cos the Katong shop is no longer there There a smaller one down the road the Pastaria Abate The beer is good The pasta is fresh and down al dente I had the Tagilitare Al Ragu and my daughter had the panini Hearty good fare and lovely decor too

Love this and the sister outlet, Pasta Abate that's just down the street. The panini sandwich is excellent. Don't let the size fool you; quite filling! Simply love the Polpette (meat balls) and the Salmone (smoked salmon) paninis. Lunch special is from 12pm to 2.30pm for $14.80 nett. No service charge (self service during order and payment, but food will be served) and no GST. Lunch special is with any panini (except for the wagyu) and homemade iced lemon tea.

I’ve missed a good Italian Deli since coming back from Europe and Puteca Abate may be my lifesaver. Extremely affordable and hidden within The Workin Capitol’s lobby, the wide range of tasty flavor packed sandwiches will keep me coming back. I had the Pollo E Pesto and was happy for a whole day. Must Try!

They serve affordable and delicious Italian food. The pesto panini is very unique, pair very well the beer!

Wide selection of paninis along with pastas, desserts and drinks. We stopped by for a late lunch and enjoyed paninis and coffee. It is very well furnished but few customers when we were there. Paninis were very good and coffee was excellent.

Quite empty during dinner but food was good. The favourite was the quattro formaggi pizza which had candied walnuts and figs to balance the savouriness. The porchetta had a strong garlic flavour but would have been better if the skin was still crispy.

We stumbled upon this humble Italian cafe at keong saik. We had pasta, multiple drinks, pizza, roast pork etc and none of these deserve less than 5 stars. This is simply because the dishes are tasty and are all below 20. Super value for money. This is a pocket friendly place. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We are struggling to understand why the google scores were low. As I am writing, we are setting our next meeting at this cafe again!
