You can smell the stench from the toilet a mile away. If a coffee shop can’t take care of the toilet hygiene, what makes you thing they will take care of your food’s?

Hokkien mee is a must try! It’s well cooked, with tasty egg bits, flavourful and thick broth. One of the top 10 hokkien mees I’ve eaten in my life and will be back to try char Kway Teow and minced meat noodles. So glad I found this gem near my house! Satay was average though, not really recommended. At night not much stalls are open, only Indian Muslim and Malay stall. Chinese stall will close at 9pm.

Hidden place with some good food especially the prata. It's a hot humid Sunday morning but stall owner refuse to switch on the big fan. Overall ok, since not much food in Upper Serangoon Crescent estate

Recommended: 1. Chilli king wanton mee Tastes like old school wanton mee with really Q noodles! Simple yet delicious & addictive (on the salty side but I love it) 2. Lok Lok stall (Lok Lok is only available for dinner) Tried the Lok Lok skewers (had the non spicy version) & the marination was simple & savory yet still retaining the ingredients' original flavours. The fried skewers did not taste like they were fried with stale oil & was fried to a nice crispy crisp! 3. Carrot cubes Try the white carrot cubes for a cheap & good plate of handmade cai tao kueh! Not too gelat or overwhelming & they don't charge 20 cents for the packaging (rare sight nowadays) 4. Roasted pork stall Chicken rice & roasted pork rice is affordable & tasty (portion of meat might be on the smaller side though) 5. Roti prata store (corner stall) NOT recommended: 1. Cheekylads western food (LONG waiting time, approx 20 mins on a WEEKDAY) I tried the cheese grill chicken chop & chicken was overcooked & charred & hard to chew, juice was almost non-existent & it was dry af. My friend had the fish & chips & the fish wasn't crispy (yet the dish was pretty oily), the dish was also tasteless.

It is the nearest coffeeshop around the area but by far one of the filthiest places I have ever been to. The smell of the toilet is unbearable, the outlook of the coffeeshop is horrendously unclean, and dirty. The back of this place like a condemn storage area messily filled with stainless steel equipments. Finally on hygiene, one of the shops was doing cleaning up and placed their rubbish bin filled with cockroaches Infront of their stall while diners are eating! It was crawling everywhere and even back to the stall. I have seen rotten food in their fridge and cockroaches crawling around their freezer as it was closed for longest time. It is just a ticking time bomb and waiting for a disaster to happen when NEA investigate and closes the stall or worse maybe closes the coffeeshop. Touch our heart, we can’t expect the most hygienic food from coffeeshop but there must be a clear and tolerable line on how dirty a shop can be and It is just crosses the threshold.

Update mar22 New stalls are carrot cake cubes and chilli king wanton noodle. Not sure if the zichar stall is closed for good, not seen them operating for past 2 weeks Update dec 2021 There goes the dessert stall and come a western stall cheekylads. Update aug 2021 Chilli king wanton noodle is located here. Not too bad for their wanton noodle Updated jun2021 Chicken rice nicely fragrance. Chicken meat is ok but not for the char siew. Char siew abit in the hard to chew. Stall owner is friendly though Next to the chicken rice stall is selling dessert like chendol and tua suan. Not too bad but the way this stall.is set up, dont seem like the seller is planning to be here long but just trying out if this place is suitable for his dessert The fried hokkien mee stall no longer in operation but in place is a mokata and lok lok stall..seem pretty popular, can see many eating at the coffeeshop Older post Fried hokkien mee is good. The indian stall serves good prata too. Recently the coffeeshop went thru some renovation for better shelter and more seating area. Coffee and tea here is nice here and thick, not the usual sugar water tea you find in most coffee shops. The seafood hor fun stall is new and quite popular. Tried the yee mee, those who like lot of port lard will love it.

Small coffee shop, peaceful quiet and cozy. New stall selling western called Cheekylads has good size portions! I’ve tried their cream pasta, grilled chicken and fish & chips. I personally like the pasta and grilled chicken. The chicken is grilled till the outsides are crispy and still moist on the inside. The pasta portions are big, good for big eaters. The grilled chicken with cheese is also enjoyable - they’re very generous with the cheese portions. Good for those who love cheese! Their coleslaw is also fresh (I’m very particular about coleslaws, I seldom eat it actually) but I could savour a few mouths from this stall.
