Not the first time I've been here, for different medical follow-ups at different clinics in this building. The general appointment system in Singhealth institutions is messed up... Appointment timings are never kept to and one can typically expect to wait at least an hour after allotted appointment timing to get even things as simple as blood tests done. For me it's review appointment with the doctor. When I asked the HSA in the doctor's room politely if I could be seen first due to having waited more than 40 minutes and with just one patient in front of me (according to healthhub), I was told they can't and I simply have to wait or reschedule as - in her exact words - "there are patients with more serious cases than you". Is the revelation of this detail not a breach of patient confidentiality? Why is a non-medical professional pronouncing judgement on whether someone's case is "serious" or not, and insinuating that seriousness of condition determines queue position? While the medical professionals here are capable and effective, the administrative system and personnel leave much to be desired.
