★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I attended a course 'Dining in the Dark' at SAVH yesterday. I was led to a dark room where I can't even see my hands by a person who is visually impaired. This person also serve us; a team of 10 people during our lunch in this dark room. A very good experience. Must attend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An experience worth trying. But do be mentally prepared that dining in pitch darkness can be daunting for some. The food is good but it can be a challenge to have your meal in pitch darkness. Servers are great. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was there for the 'dining in the dark' experience. This is something everyone must try at least once.
Once there, an introduction would be made to our server, who is visually handicapped. He then led us to our seats. The room we were dining in was totally dark. It was not possible to see what one is eating.
There was soup, a main course , a dessert and a drink. The food is enjoyable, even without seeing it. Water is also provided. One will hear a slight commotion due to people pouring more water than needed into their cups.
At the end of the meal, lights will be switched on to show the aftermath of the meal. It is not surprising to see mess here and there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During my volunteer experience, i did not get to meet many staff, but those i met seems to care about their visually impaired clients. Old building but an interesting one. (They are just next to Caldecott MRT. )
