★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent char kway teow - flavourful and fragrant. One of the best I've eaten! The chef has improved his dish over the years! Unlike other food establishments where dishes have dropped in standards, this char kway teow dish at Sweet Bistro has improved! Kudos to the chef!

Prefer their yam cakes over the other stall nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent shop selling cakes, pastries and snacks. My favourites are the madeliene, yam cakes and pumpkin cakes (the chili is very spicy and good). For lunch you can go for the Penang Fried Kway Teow which is done very simply but flavourful. It's opposite the staircase leading down to the wet market.

And this is one of the most authentic penang char kuay teow around.
