THE CHEERY CHILD CLINIC @ HOUGANG - 1187 Upper Serangoon Rd

Dr. Zainal was the best pediatricians we have encountered in singapore. Previous pediatricians from SGH gave us massive amount of medicine that my son really does not need, which i felt too overkill for a baby. Until my wife's friend referred us to Dr. Zainal, he and his staff where very professional, friendly and took care of my kids very well they don't sell medicine that you really don't need.

Rude reception. Even if you don't accept walk-in, you can be more polite to say no. We've walk in with a sick baby to be rejected.

Doctor Zainal is very patience and passionate. Clinic is spacious ! However do make an appointment before coming down. (You still have to wait despite appointment ..) Every child that visit the clinic has a purpose and is urgent. So, I think we just have to be patience to wait for our turn to come.

Dr Zainal is a great PD as ever. Never looked back at any other PDs after we seen him. Staffs are very2 quick amd friendly too! Great experience, tho clinic is always full do make an appointment before coming down. ?

My husband walked in with our 4 month old hungry baby who couldn't take in any milk for the past 24 hours and has been crying cause of diarrhea. That was the only PD open on Sunday at 10am (they opened at 9.30am). The receptionist rejected them immediately. How can they do that? They rejected my poor hungry baby just like that. They travelled so far. And now they have to travel to KKH. This is ridiculous and heartless. So disappointing and will not recommend.

Sorry to say it's the first and last visit as I can't feel the dr's patient and passion like on other reviews wrote here. Since it was the first visit, Dr spent some time to understand my baby's history and profile, followed by examine my baby for his diarrhea. Dr explained his diarrhea causes and share with us what to do, and also his existing running nose issue (which he just checked and gave a QUICK explanation). Dr then say that my baby had "enzyma" as his neck had some dry red patches. And we were charged a LONG CONSULTATION rate. It's definitely unpleasant for me as first consultation definitely longer than repeated consultation since you need to identify the profile of the little patient, so do you want to fault us for these by charging us a LONG CONSULTATION rate and not a "first consultation" rate. Secondly, we are not very much bothered by the "enzyma" claimed by doctor as our usual PD and during my baby's usual DA at polyclinic, they claimed the red patches are just milk rash. Furthermore, we brought him to see Dr for his bad diarrhea so this "enzyma" issue isn't the priority for us, but Dr seems to be more concerned on this "enzyma" than his diarrhea and running nose. Dr's way of highlighting this seems like he is judging us on why we are so ignorant of the "enzyma" issue and I felt really uncomfortable. We had our usual PD and since he was on leave so we try out Cherry Clinic but left with more worries. It took me quite awhile before I decided to write this review to share my experience. We follow-up with our usual PD after his leave and realised baby's running nose had brought him ear infection already!

Dr Zainal is really kind and patient attending to our child and he explains to us (the parents) clearly on how we can make our child feel better or recover faster. The clinic is always fully booked during Sundays and appointments takes precedent over walk-in. The counter staff have tried to explain to parents why they are unable to take in walk-in. We were also informed via the phone not to bring in our child and seek another doctor when their appointments are full. However they are still as caring and asked about our child’s condition whenever we see them. It would be best to call first and check. The hotline will always be engaged but it would be better than just heading down and wasted trip.

Definitely one of the best PD around. Dr Zainal is a very caring and professional doctor who is not profit driven (very scarce in today’s society). Our last visit was a year ago but because our child symptoms is same as previously, he charges us as repeated consultation which he don’t have to. He also don’t pressure you to buy medicine that you already have or don’t need. Their charges is very ridiculous reasonable for a PD. The only disadvantage is the long queue which is expected for a popular and good doctor. Every visit, my child will surely recover. That’s what every parents are thankful for.
