β β β β β Humiliated by the staff for their own incompetency. Totally oblivious to the protocols of the SRS results disclosure. Horrible experience. Minus stars for this place. They don't even deserve that one star.

β β β β β Had part of my tooth chipped off and went there. Not knowing what to expect, the experience turned out to be very good. Dentist Dr Teh is clear in her steps and procedures and checked every now and then to make sure everything is ok.

β β β β β After booking an appointment, I called TDGD to request that I would like to reschedule, for I had unforeseen family circumstances. However, if they are still willing to have me, I could only arrive 15 minutes after the stipulated timing. The staff-on-duty paused reluctantly, but continued to inform that whilst the tight timing may not allow treatment to be carried out, a consultation can still happen. Furthermore, a reschedule appointment was only available in the next week.
Upon arrival, Dr Zhu Ting Yun informed me that I can opt for a wisdom tooth extraction. I was surprised, because earlier, the staff implied that I only had time for a consultation. Zhu then inquired if I had enough in my MEDISAVE, for the procedure would not be carried out if I had insufficient balance. Knowing that I could not endure the pain any longer, I quickly agreed, and proceeded to check my account. As a fresh graduate, I informed the staff that I do not have enough for the medical expenses ($1, 250). What came after was, in my opinion, a display of unwarranted behaviour from Dr Zhu and her assistant, Zhao Lu.
We were all waiting for my father, a 58-year-old man, who I called to make the payment on my behalf. As I was sitting in the chair, I overheard the pair conversing about me in Chinese: on how I was late, and making them wait even more. I just shrugged it off because I took their irritation as workers who have had a busy day. However, the snarky remarks continued even when my father came (comparing the duration of both he and I took to reach the clinic, whether he had enough to pay for the surgery etc.) As time passes, it is of no surprise that I became increasingly offended.
When the procedure was done, I turned and said, βI apologise for my latecoming, but I want to let you know that I can understand Chinese. I understand what the both of you were saying, and it is very unprofessional for you two to have done so.β After walking out of the room, Zhu brought me back, and apologised. She explained where she was coming from, and I nodded, truly understanding that in total, the 20-minute wait for both my father and I, have delayed TDGD's schedule. Nevertheless, I reiterated that it was still wrong of them to assume that the customer at hand did not understand their language, and made the aforementioned remarks. I remember Zhao Lu standing at the corner, not saying anything. Zhu then asked, which of their words was I specifically offended by. At this point of time, I was not surprised that she was still trying to confirm if I understood Chinese or not, but I told her a), b) and c). She nodded, and apologised once more. Eventually, Zhu dismissed it as a βmiscommunicationβ on both sides.
I just want to make this clear: this incident was not a "miscommunication" of any sorts. Rather, it was an explicit act of unprofessionalism from TDGD. In actuality, a huge percentage of minority races in Singapore can actually understand the Chinese language, and many times, have been victims of hearing the majority race pass callous remarks in such form and manner. I myself, picked up the language from taking classes, watching Channel 8 shows, and having Chinese peers around me. Seeing two (supposed) professionals, dentist Zhu Ting Yun and assistant Zhao Lu, outrightly exchanging remarks about their customer who was in the very same room, really disgusts me.
Today, I received a letter from CPF that TDGD have also wrongly submitted MEDISAVE withdrawals. I called, and they admitted that the management team might have mistook my account for my father's, and sincerely apologised. Had it been other situations, I would have let this go. However, the string of incidents that kept happening to me in this clinic, made this mistake the final straw for me.
I truly hope that TDGD will not repeat this behaviour again. I hope you also hire those that are more respectful to future customers, and handle each situation with courtesy and utmost professionalism as well.

β β β β β I came here because I thought I had a cavity. Whenever I drank cold water or wind came into my mouth, my teeth hurt. You can call to make the reservation first then you just come in, better than walk-in.
The dentist is extremely friendly and determined. She analyzed carefully what happened to my teeth. Actually it is not a cavity, it is just because I used to have brace and wrong brushing direction which made my gum became lower than other ones, exposing the sensitive part of the teeth. Hence, she recommended me to have dental filling to strengthen the teeth. I agreed because I donot want it to disturb me anymore.
In general, I had
- Exam and consultation (FOC)
- Fluoride application
- Scaling and polishing
- Tooth coloured filling
Total SGD 220
The price might be a little bit expensive to someone, but what I received is worthy
