This my visits to the White Tiffin in Changi City Point. Very satisfying and brings back memories of the traditional dishes in Penang. I ordered the sampler rice sets, the Vinegar Pork, Curry Chicken, Reading Beef, Pong Teh Pork... all very yummy. Husband ordered Nasi Lemak with Belacan Fried Chicken, very worth the money. Needless to say the coffee is also very nice and fragrant. We also ordered the Cendol Ice cream set, coconut ice cream as based with the crunchy coconut flakes, redbeans, special kind of cendol (the green thingy) plus the gula melaka syrup, it's a perfect match. The peanuts Mua Chee also very nice, soft texture and crunchy peanuts crunch. Felt confident with every dish.

Visited twice in 2 days. It is a nice place for tea and a snack. The tea quality is high and is brewed without the astringency or sugar compensated sweetness of other places. The kueh is slightly above average but still enjoyable. Ordered the mee Siam and laksa. The mee Siam was unexpectedly spicy and the laksa was thick, delicious with very little gravy. Overall, it was ok but not the best mee Siam or laksa. Even at the price of $7-9 that includes prawn and/or abalone. The place is crowded on weekends and lunch time. It is also perpetually well patronized even in the evenings.

Wow I've just had a delicious meal here. The place doesn't look up to much to be honest I walked past 3 times but glad I ate there. I had the chicken Nasi lemak amazing texture and taste. Fast polite service too, just a great meal and experience.

Though this was recommended peranakan crusine but food and services were disappointed. No booking is allowed, only walk-in. By 7pm, recommended dishes like curry chicken, laksi lemak, Mee Siam are no longer available and left with limited choice of food. The Peranakan faucet were touch and go, no details compared to that of Katong Peranakan restaurant.

Randomly decided to try as couldn’t decide what to eat. Was surprised that everything is good and to our liking. Will recommend family and friends to try too. Will be back again to try other dishes for sure! Ps. The chendol is not made of shaved ice, but ice cream, not really my type but still ok.

Second time we patronise the White Tiffin. The muah chee isn't sweet (which we love!) It really brings out the fragrance of the sesame and peanut. Restaurant manager told us they only make two batches a day, and they sell out, fast. So lucky we got our hands on some! The blue pea nasi lemak had white streaks, indicating how much coconut had just gone into its preparation. Very lemak, very good but doctor say cut down! >.< The curry chicken was flavoured strongly with lemongrass, a good contrast to other curries I have had... Some curries can be too oily/creamy for my liking. Gula Java tea tasted identical to gula Melaka tea. Haven't read up on Gula Java, but too sweet for us. Next time, we will get kurang manis (less sweet) for sure. Chap Chye was good, but would recommend their Babi Pongteh instead. There isn't a picture of the latter because it was from a previous visit. The adults skipped dessert (as all the durian options were sold out) but the kids loved the deconstructed chendol. Coconut flakes were toasted - very nice.

I really loved the vegetable curry aka sayur lemak (longtong) and laksa in the sample platters. The flavour of the curry gravies in those dishes were fantastic!! I found the beef rendang a bit unusual as I am more used to the Padang style which is slightly drier and more intense. The chicken curry strangely tasted like Yeo Curry Chicken in a can but of course the White Tiffin chicken dish is fresher and tastier than the canned one. The black vinegar pork belly is a surprisingly good dish but I'm even more surprised to find it in a supposedly Peranakan themed cafe. I absolutely loved the rempah udang as the spicy dried shrimp went beautifully well with the impeccable texture of the butterfly pea coloured glutinous rice. Best was the chendol ice cream... Awesome way to spend am afternoon!

Staff were friendly and accomodating. Even when we wanted to customise a set meal, they took it in their stride and gave us what we wanted. We had the 2 sampler sets, and thats the best way to taste most of the dishes the restaurant had to offer. Of note, is the beef rendang, very well made. Sauce taste of fresh spices and very tasty. The mee siam broth was savoury, sweet and tangy. Thumbs up. The kuehs were made fresh, and still taste good when dapao and eaten the next day. Highly recommended.
