How can you call this θ’œζ³₯白肉 (sliced pork belly with garlic and chili oil)?No chili oil, no garlic, and it's not even pork belly! Just sesame sauce and vinegar, and it tasted terrible, the worst I've ever had. Foods are "ok" but expensive. Fortunately the duck is not bad, be sure to call the front desk and make reservation if you want to try it out. Would only recommend the duck and nothing else.

TungLok Peking Duck After reading so many posts on roast ducks, we also ventured to Orchard Central Level 7 to see if TungLok's Peking Duck is able to replace the best Peking duck we had at Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck in Paragon. Thinking the whole duck would be too much for us, we asked if we were able to order half. No was the answer and the captain claimed just nice for 2 pax. So instead of having other dishes, the 2 adults and 1 toddler settled for 1 Peking duck and a bowl of white rice. The duck took about 30 mins to be served while the rice, after 3 repeated orders and 3 reminders, did not come even after we were done with the duck. The whole duck was priced at $98 and was cut up in front of us when it was served. Other than the condiments, we were served with 3 plates of duck skins and meats which we doubted the whole duck was given. First was the condiments. Other than the usual spring onions, cucumber strips and sauce, they added mustard, sugar and fizzling sugar sweets. As for the duck, one plate focused on the crispy skin while the other 2 plates were the meats. For the skin... FWIYOH! Nice charred flavour, crispy and melted the moment it touched the tongue. As for the meats, best to couple them with the sauces as the meat tasted gamey. For me, I prefer the meat would come with a bit more fat that would provide me with natural lip balm. Back to the condiments. After trying the skin and a piece of the meat, the fizzy sugar was my first choice of dip. After coating the meat in the orange fizzy sugar and into mouth, it was a pleasant experience to have the sugar fizz and pop in the mouth while munching on the meat. Felt like a kid again. Service was somewhat lacking perhaps due to the full house situation. Now the beerdict.*drum roll* Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck is still the best. Service: ? ? Price: ? Taste: ? ? Will return: ? ? (perhaps for other dishes and buy their frozen cooked food) Afternote: Ask for the whole bone to be chopped up and packed for home. There's a great amount of meat not touched. They should have offered in the first place than just keeping for themselves. Honesty?

What to say? I seldom do a review but I am motivated today. The duck is super greasy and oilly (looked like cardboard). The condiments does not look fresh and are dry. This is one of the worse Peking Duck I have eaten. The only bright spot is the Mala tofu which is acceptable but I will not come again. This is not what I expected of TungLok, The management is not doing a proper QC

Always had an expectation that Tunglok food is of better quality than rest of the chinese restaurants out in the SG shopping malls. I visited during the CNY period and ordered the CNY set menu. Yu sheng came first, it was quite refreshing with crispy fishskin and fresh ingredients, even though fried yam was thinnly grated i can manage to taste it. The signature peking duck is a total disappointment! Skin is not crispy at all. This is a very basic requirement that is not fufilled. Tried with 3 eat of various sauces (blueberry sauce, mutard sauce and sweet bean sauce) And we opted to cook The duck frame in cereal style, find it not oily and good taste with cereal but seems like it's v savory with overpowering salt &pepper taste ? The duck meat wasnt gamey, just slightly dry. Chicken soup and veg dish is good. To be honest, my first and will be my last time here because the signature dish ia not up to standard.

Empress Dowager was craving for some Peking Duck, so a trip was made to the 7th floor of Orchard Central where TungLok Xihe Peking Duck is located. This restaurant specialises in Peking Duck. Having made a reservation prior, we were seated soon after arrival. At the same time, a foreign Chinese family was demanding to be seated but had not made any reservation and were kicking up a fuss at the concierge for having been waiting for 15 mins and not given any table yet. Sigh. Knowing that like any typical Chinese restaurant in Singapore, where the dishes will be pushed out very very quickly in succession, we ordered the Peking Duck first as it takes 20 mins to 30 mins to prepare. Then ordered the other dishes 1 at a time. This was easy to do as the ordering was done by QR code and sent to the kitchen directly. Started with the appetiser of Deep Fried Beancurd Skin Rolls with Shrimps and Fried Pork with Cabbage Dumpling (Wo Tie). The shrimp was succulent and wrapped in a a crispy shell pairing well with the sweet chili sauce. The Wo Tie was nice but the skin could be pan fried longer for a better crisp. Next up was the Braised Beancurd with Roast Pork and Mushroom in Claypot. The meats and beancurd within was braised really well with that wonderful claypot aroma. The next main to come was the Peking Duck. The restaurant uses Irish ducks as they were bigger and fatter. Served with various sides to place in the wrap, it was a really yummy dish to be enjoyed. Especially with the various sauces. The Duck also comes with a second serving which one can decide out of 3 methods to enjoy. We ended the meal with a dessert of Lemongrass Jelly with Aloe Vera and Fresh Fruits. It helped to give a sweet ending and refreshed the palate after the heavy but delicious meal. Always a safe choice for families - young and old. Nice and consistent food, great service. Tip: to pre order Peking duck when making reservations! :) All the dishes we tried were good - peking duck, fench beans, 3 egg spinach, wagyu beef (!!), mongolian pork, la zi ji, fried rice and eefu noodles.

Firstly, the ambiance. ..... Can't write anything about it cos there's nothing to write about. The decoration sand vibe is not too be associated with a middle-upper restaurant. In fact, the furniture, the decorations feels like a middle-upper restaurant in a China's tier 3 city. Tables with table cloths, general misfits of furniture, lights, flooring... Decor in general. Service staff lacking in attention to details and passion in job, like top up tea or making suggestions for dishes. Finally, the reason that people go to thus restaurant for... The Peking duck. For the price, we have had better ones elsewhere. Only the first serving was introduced and suggested good it should be paired, 2nd n 3rd plates, we were left to figure out ourselves. And with each bite, there's just a lack of punch. Lack in wanting for the next piece. Kinda just want to finish up so as not to waste them. And when it's all over, just wished I'd taken the money and spent them on another duck.

Had dinner there and was awaiting to be blown away by the food. Did the first round time session and saw a huge crowd gathering together with us to get in. So we were thinking wow this got to be very yummy. But it is was just β€œSO-SO” nothing to shout about and Peking duck was such a disappointment! There are other restaurants that does it and taste way better. All the dishes we orders only the chicken soup was good. The rest was mid par or below par for the price we paid. The service lady serving our group and another table was very helpful and very courteous. Too bad for the food or we would recommend having us back. Just too bad it was a place we would not even want to go back there for a meal. The 2 stars are for the service staffs and cleanliness of the restaurant.
