★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nagging, uninformed and annoying in its communication style, stealing money from teachers as the business model:
Work two weeks for free, then the teacher can charge the client him-/herself. Sounds sketchy to me, especially as one is practically encouraged to do so in cash #SmellsLikeTaxEvasion
PS: Also recruiting completely inexperienced "teachers".
EDIT: They flagged my Trustpilot review as fake for revealing the two weeks condition, hinting that I had no relation with them. I had. It became short.
EDIT 2: After not succeeding with this, they flagged my review again, revealing little else than what's stated in their FAQs a couple of weeks ago.
EDIT 3: Can't leave it by replying again and still tries to gaslight me, now even misgendering. #SmellsLikeDesperationToMe.
Message: Stay as far away as possible, especially as a teacher.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fraudulent, do not do business with Tutoroo. They convinced me to pay for classes that were unavailable and refused to refund me although I no longer wanted to take any lessons at all. This company is a scam built on exploiting would-be students' good faith. Stay away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is literally a scam company. They force you to pay before you can speak with a tutor. My tutor that I reached out to never replied so they paired me with a far more expensive tutor and tried to get more money out of me. I said I wouldn’t pay more, and I wanted a refund. Suddenly no communication. Stay away, you have been warned.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to inform you and everybody using this service, that this company is just a SCAM, because all 3 students the company connected me with, I was teaching for 5 weeks for free, while then, they have decided not to continue, because of lack of time, difficulty of language etc. Due to that I am going to cancel my profile. I dont have that much time to teach all the time for free, I have my students who pay me regularly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a poorly run company who aren't afraid to take advantage of having false information on their website.
I was looking for a tutor for face to face language lessons. I found one in my area and signed up for 2 lessons. It turned out that the tutor had forgotten to update their address and had moved to a different state. I asked for a refund and was told I couldn't get a refund because they could still provide online lessons (for the same price as face to face of course). That is not what I was looking for. I have done online lessons before and there is a reason they are cheaper - they are nowhere near as effective. After multiple emails back and forth stating that I had not paid for online lessons and would not accept them as a substitute I have still not got a refund.
I really should have read the google reviews first, this company's track record is quite clear. And their 5-star reviews look a little fishy to me....
