Taste the freshness of the Sashimi sushi. Tempura Belt fish was the best of my Omakase dishes.

My family’s first omakase experience and it was honestly rather disappointing — the food was just okay (tinyyy portions like other reviews have mentioned) and the ambience wasn’t enjoyable (quite noisy). Wouldn’t come back again.

Had the cheaper omakase..didn't want to eat too much. Still filled to the bream! Sushi is fresh and Chef Eugene is super friendly! Will return to try the bigger omakase.

Paid around $310 for $88+ and $138+ and a sake.. the sushi portion is small although quality is fresh. Didn't feel filling at all.. I been to many omakase places and sorry to say I didn't enjoy the experience here as the only thing is sushi and no variety. Even with the $138+ there was only a small appetizer, one grilled fish, one hot dish with 11pcs of sushi. Rather disappointed with the food and overall experience

High quality sushi at a really good price point. I liked the seasoning of the rice and the temperature, and the neta is pretty good too not too cold, not to warm.. Just right so you can taste everything. My omakese was heavy in tuna, which was delicious, but for me the star of the night was the white fish. Hirame, shima aji. And the torigai ... So good.

Have been there twice... First was when it just officially opened in 13th February 2022... But I went on the 15th Feb and 11th March recently... The food was very fresh and service was superb... This is not a large Japanese sushi restaurant but instead a cosy one that served Omakase Japanese food.. at reasonably priced for the quality of the food being served... Suggest to call for booking in advance as seats are limited at the moment due to safe distancing being implemented by the Govt...

Exceptionalism! UNKAI Proof that some of the very best Sashimi - Sushi restaurants in Singapore does NOT NEED TO BE run by a Japanese Chef! Eugene the head chef at Unkai, located at the Rendezvous Orchard Hotel, has just blown my palate into Gourmet Heaven! 1st. Leave the menu composition to the chef! He knows what are the very best products 2nd. Don’t limit your budget for the Ultimate experience, no need to go overboard, but for the best experience, go for it 3rd. Open your mind, trust the chef, and every time you open your mouth to place these quaint morsels into your mouth, CLOSE YOUR EYES, and let the full quality and depth of flavour mesmerise you. 4th. Don’t rush, you need time, don’t rush the chef, quality takes it’s time! It’s worth it 5th. Be grateful that such passion exists in this labour stretched market, relax and enjoy! 6th. Before you exit the Restaurant, make your next reservation, and express your gratitude to the small Team! NOTE: I was so bust having a good time, I didn’t write down each cut and fish variety, suffice to say, it’s super fresh, via Osaka, and highly seasonal! Totally enjoyed the food and experience. A very relaxed atmosphere to dine in and unpretentious. We loved every thing that was presented. Will be back again.
