Fragrant. Delicious. Preferred the white. Black a little too sweet for me

Ordered their carrot cake from Living menu Sent all the way to Hougang. I did not eat it immediately after half an hour after recieved and it is still prettily good. I think it would tasted awesome if you having there.

No queue at all during weekday lunch crowd. Not many carrot cake stall offer mixed black and white but this does. Get to taste both at the same time. Black version pretty sweet and white version was ok. Not enough chai po but still fairly tasty with the pan fried style. Saw some reviews that there are prawns but didn't spot any on my plate.

Always enjoyed the black and white versions perfectly fried in balanced flavor and texture with sufficient garnishing, chilli and pepper. And round up the meal with a dessert bowl of their beancurd, barley and ginkgo nuts or green beans or red beans soup. The owner and his wife are super friendly and polite to their customers. Highly recommended!

Decided to give it a try as the other stall has a bit of q. Opted for black/white with chillis. Both are equally good. White is a bit dry and the owner pan fried till a bit char, love it. Black is moist and sweet. Blended them well. $4.50? Above average.

Trying carrot cake since my nasi lemak fav stall was not opened. There are 2 stalls at each corner on the same stretch. The other is called β€œFried Cake Cake” which seem to have more crowd. This stall is $0.50 more expensive for the same dish. hence explained why maybe the other stall has more crowd( I will try the other stall next time to compare the taste). Anyway I tried Wei Wei since the few google reviews were good. I ordered the white and black. There are only 2 white carrot cake that I will buy. Yishun 618 and Bukit Timah Hawker He Zhong. The white carrot cake is not of my liking and anyway comparable to my fav white carrot cake. The cai po is lacking and thus unable to bring out the flavour. However the black version carrot cake is very good and highly recommended. I also like that auntie added the freshly cut spring onion to the dish at the end of cooking. I will definitely buy the black version. It is similar taste to the whampoa carrot cake stall (Tanglin Halt A1) which I like. Auntie is friendly and offer to bring the food to your table.

#02-52 Wei Wei Carrot Cake 威威菜頭粿 Located at the front of the Hawker Centre facing the main road, Wei Wei Carrot Cake specialises in Fried Carrot Cake. A firm favourite of the many visitors, it sees very long queues during lunchtime. This stall serves up their Fried Carrot Cake in various styles and the best option is their Mixed Version (Black + White) where one gets to try the best of both worlds. Taking the option of paying for an extra egg allows the meal to be even better. Another interesting aspect of this stall is that they sell some simple local soup desserts which one can add on to make it a set or by itself. Definitely a plus point in terms of TCM where the heaty fried dish is balanced by the cooling effects of the soup dessert. General Verdict: Popular Fried Carrot Cake Stall that serves up delicious food and cooling desserts Opening Hours: Daily 6:45am to 2pm Queue Situation: About 15 mins to 20 mins during lunchtime, next to none outside of lunchtime Price: SG$3 to SG$4.50 Payment Mode: Cash, Local Internet Banking by QR code or AMEX (Singapore) Pay Items Ordered: 1) Item: Mixed Fried Carrot Cake Description: Enjoy the best of both flavours with the extra egg making it a much better dish Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$4.50 (Additional SG$0.50 for an extra egg) 2) Item: Green Bean Soup Description: Yummy green bean soup that is not too sweet and has a homely feel Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$1.30 (or SG$1 if ordered as set)
