★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great tasting food but some people could be annoyed of the little things like charging for ice, issue not given automatically for a dine in restaurant. Enjoyed the Kaminabe Zen which actually comes with chicken by (not vegetarian by default as menu implies)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The soup is very nice that comes with chicken and mushrooms and vegetables. Tonkotsu is thick, but batter has little flavour. Got queue and limited seats. Quite expensive, with 2 dishes adding up to 49sgd. Can be improved. Staff is friendly and explained the menu to us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the Pork Loin Hobayaki Zen and Hotate Butter. Both was delicious and the wasabi miso sauce that came with the Pork Loin Hobayaki Zen made the dish even tastier. Good service was provided as well and hence an overall good experience.

Sukiyaki set: Beef was medium rare and tender, salad was fresh and sashimi was tasty
Yuzu soda and seafood chawamushi were satisfactory.
Would not recommend the ordering the squid side dish though, flame from the grilling setup was not hot enough and was concentrated on only a part of the squid

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service by Mr Simon. He briefed us on the menu and also recommended the specials. He goes above and beyond to accomodate us as we are 1st timers. Simon should be the forefront face of Yayoi. Anyways, food was great! Will come again!
