β β β β β I read a lot of review thought that he is good. I sent over my brand new pair of Prada to change the sole. When I got the shoe back. The workmanship was terrible and there were glue stain all over the shoe. Even the inner sole. There were also on ink on my shoe which was beyond salvage. I demanded for an explanation, he then uses turpentine like chemical with tissue paper to attempt to wipe on the leather. Which only makes it worst. I am surprised he have gotten so much good review.
He is not cheap either. He charged me 75 to change the sole. Best one solution using Vibram sole charge me 55 for similar repair.

β β β β β My wife's sandal strap broke and I brought it to Mr. Yamaguchi for repair. Took him just 10 min to fix it at a very reasonable price. Good workmanship. He is very professional, polite yet reserved. Highly recommended!

β β β β β Not one to usually write reviews but I was quite disappointed since there were so many good reviews. Sent my loafers down to repair the sole. Mr Yamaguchi is an old man and I understand he has been in the business for long, i did not expect any thing lesser. I came at 6pm and told him that I will come down the next day to collect my shoes at 7pm(he said ok), i took a cab down the next day after fetching my two kids from Sembawang and asked the taxi to wait for me at the side while i collected my shoes, Mr Yamaguchi could not find my shoes and to my horror when i helped him look for it cos my cab was waiting, I found my bag of shoes under some other shoes on his table and i realised it had not been touched yetβ¦ then he said βthis one tomorrowβ. He had clearly forgotten about it. It was really frustrating. I came down the next day to collect it, and the quality of the workmanship was not what i would expect from someone who was so skilled. Truly disappointed. Hope no one will experience the same.

β β β β β The soles of my pair of timberland shoes gave way back in 2016 while we were at Mount Fuji, visited Mr Yamaguchi when we were back after I came across an article abt him @ TNP online.
Granted, the cost of repairing the shoes were close to getting a new pair from the outlet stores but I decided to go ahead.
The repair took a couple of days, and oh boy! The workmanship seriously is tip top. He took the initiative to repair and reinforce the whole sole (for both shoes) instead of just focusing on the part that gave way. The stitches were also carefully planned and cleverly hidden in gooves itβs near impossible to tell the shoes are ever repaired, and more importantly reduce the chances of contact to the ground to prevent breakage. You really get your moneyβs worth!
Itβs mid 2020 and Iβm only posting this now as I happen to be wearing the same shoes today. :)

β β β β β Uncle is one of best-reviewed cobblers in the north. He can apprise your goods to see if itβs worth repairing. Handiwork is good.
If he goes for a break, just sit around and wait for him!

β β β β β Read the good reviews and went all the way from amk to yishun to fix the sole of my heels which had given way (not worn for sometime). I was told glueing it will fix the prob. Paid $14 and collected my shoes 2 hours later. After collection saw it still opens when I touch it and I thot it need more time for the glue to work and I went home. Kiasu me even used clothe pegs to clamp the soles so it will better secure the glued work. After 2 days the sole still opens up when I lightly pull it. Disappointed!

β β β β β Got my soccer shoe mended with this gentleman and I am beyond impressed. For just $20 the entire sole of my soccer shoe was sewn back on.
