Lucky to get a table without reservation on a Friday night. Was given a quiet corner at the back of the restaurant which was greatly appreciated. Food was impeccable. Though a busy and crowded night, service was on point. A shout-out to Raj who took really good care of us tonight. Sincere and efficient service ! kudos to you ,Raj! Thank you for making dining here an enjoyable experience!.

Enjoyed the tandoori platter (Malai Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Mutton Seekh Kebab, Murg Pudina and Fish Tikka) - the dry spices, flavours on the outside balanced by the juicy texture of the meat on the inside. The murg pudina tikka and malai chicken kebab were particularly good. The palak paneer was rather watery - not so much spinach in the dish. The plain naan tasted good but not warm. The mango lassi was fine though it was on the sweeter side.

Headed out to the East Coast area to try another place on the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award journey. Zaffron Kitchen specialises in Indian Food and has 2 other outlets in Singapore that are more accessible. Located at the Katong area, getting here is a bit of a logistical nightmare for those on bus and train public transport. The restaurant had set meals as well as Michelin Sets but after looking at the options, decided to go with the ala-carte option instead. Started the meal with a "Meal Add-on" option which included a Mushroom Soup and a soft drink. Found the Mushroom Soup a little too creamy for those who may be lactose intolerant. The first main to come was the Tandoori Mixed Grill. It was a really nice dish with the meat having a really nice crust while the meat within still retained some juice and was not dry. The second appetiser to arrive was the Garlic Naan. Loved the softness and the garlic flavours within and the light crunch of the surface. This went especially well with the Zaffron Mutton Briyani to come next. Cooled in a dish and covered with a roti while it was being heated up, the rice within absorbed the juices from the mutton and made it really fragrant. Alas, the mutton itself was a little too dry, perhaps it was baked a little too long given that the roti on top was pretty well charred. Overall, while the meal was acceptable, it most definitely was worth neither the time nor journey here to enjoy it. Perhaps if one was in the area and one was really craving for Indian food would one then give Zaffron Kitchen a visit. For those who still insist on visiting, one could purchase a SG$50 food voucher at SG$45 from the Chope, Lazada or Shoppee app platforms, to save a little money. Only one voucher per table and no stacking of vouchers allowed General Verdict: Average Indian Food that had no wow factor and would be well surpassed by any Nasi Biryani stalls in the Hawker Centres Opening Hours: Tuesday to Thursday 11:30am-3pm and 5pm-9:30pm Friday 11:30am-3pm and 5pm-10:30pm Weekends 11:30am-10:30pm Closed on Mondays Queue Situation: Next to none but one could earn some Chope Points by making a reservation on Chope Price: SG$20 to SG$40 per person Payment Mode: Cash and all Major Credit Cards (Physical and Paywave) Is this worth a try? Maybe Is it worth making a trip just to try it? No Is this worthy of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award? Unsure Items Ordered: 1) Item: Mushroom Soup Description: Savoury dish that is too creamy and not suitable for those who are lactose intolerant Verdict: Acceptable, Order only if you want to try Price: SG$5++ (Available only as part of Meal Add On option which includes a can of soft drink) 2) Item: Tandoori Mixed Grill - Includes Chicken Tikka, Malai Tikka, Fish Tikka and Seekh Mutton Kebab Description: Well cooked meats cooked in the Tandoor that has a light crunch if the skin and a slightly juicy meat that made for a yummy experience Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$35++ 3) Item: Garlic Naan - A type of bread cooked in a Tandoor Description: A light crunch with a soft interior that was lightly filled with the garlic flavour that made it so yummy and matched really well with the Biryani Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$5.20++ 4) Item: Zaffron Mutton Biryani - Flavourful basmati biryani rice and juicy mutton cooked on Dum over small heat, served with a piece of Papadum Description: The rice was flavourful and the roti on top absorbed some of the flavours too, making them yummy, but alas the mutton was a little dry and could be due to the dish being cooked for too long as evident from the extra burnt area at the top of the roti Verdict: Acceptable, Order only if you want to try Price: SG$18++

I somehow love this place their tandoori dishes are the best. I have ate at many place in Singapore but this place has the best tandoori chef. I brought all my staff here to dine. It's not pricely it's a Michelin star restaurant though but they don't rip you off. It's a cosy and beautiful place.
