Ah Khoo Kopi Toast - 1 Tampines Walk

Cashier and the uncle unfriendly. I asked if the tea was with sugar and in return, he gave me a death stare. I thought maybe he didn't hear me so I asked my question again. This time he replied very rudely 'what did you order? ' maybe it was a one off but then I noticed other people having the same experience. Never again.

Rude staff, way below average soya chicken noodle and laksa, overpriced. Thankfully their coffee earned them one star. Do not recommend at all @ Tampines hub branch.

We had a very bad experience at Tampines Hub on 17 June 2022 at 8.09pm. We were aware that they are closing at 8.30pm as cashier already told us so. When we just sat down with our hot drinks, one elder staff stared at us and said it in a very unfriendly tone that they were closing soon. We told her that we just got our drinks and was hot, she answered rudely “tabao la”!! Then she walked to another table chasing the customers and that was not even close to 8.30pm. We sat for less than 5 mins as we couldn’t have a peaceful drink so we returned the drinks to the cashier and left. We feedback to the cashier and they seemed to know that it happened before and told the elder staff “already told you not to chase away customers”. I guess we will not patronize this stall anymore!!

Perfect half boiled eggs, tea and coffee was standard. Kaya toast was disappointing. The butter was totally melted in a puddle at the bottom of the plate, and it was a mess to eat, and they didn’t provide serviettes. And they tried to chase us away even before we finished our drinks! I get it that it was crowded and seats were limited. But we weren’t done yet! Won’t be going back.

It's a shame they don't have more outlets sprinkled across the island because their food is absolutely AMAZING. I can't say the same for the toasts cause I haven't tried them.. But the herbal chicken and curry chicken are heavenly. I noticed that they use the sous vide method to cook these 2 dishes which explains how the meat is so tender and flavourful. The packaging is worth a mention too. The effort put into bringing good food to us is commendable! It's definitely worth a visit.

I wasn't expecting much from this place, but the food is actually nice. I used to only drink their iced lemon tea, but I finally tried the food. It isn't that expensive because the set comes with the iced lemon tea. If you minus the price of the drink, it's about the same price as any of the other cheap indoor aircon eateries. The laksa was actually delicious and the prawns were very fresh. In fact, there were so much ingredients, I found that there was not enough noodles to go with it. Curry chicken and soy sauce chicken were all nice too. The macaroni soup was quite horrible, not sure if it was microwaved because the bowl was unnaturally hot at the edges. Service is alright in general. I haven't met any bad service staff so far, unlike what the other reviews said. Maybe they have employed better people now. Those that I have met recently are young local female staff, and they are all quite polite. The only unhappy experience I had was on a Sunday, when I was there to buy iced lemon tea at 8pm, and they rejected me flatly saying they are closed.

Had this beef stew, has potato, carrot celery. portion is big, beef chuck tender, taste wise is ok. Has a drink, $10.90 No issue with their service.

There is this plump middle age woman at the cashier who is extremely rude. I try to pay using AMEX. It did not go through and she told me it’s written and pasted at the cashier register machine that no AMEX. I told her nicely that she can tell the customer if the customer fails to see the note pasted on the machine. She LOOKED THROUGH me and said ok next. Then I told her nicely that she cannot be so rude when she speaks to a customer but she look through me and totally ignored me. This is just a simple reminder which she did not even bother to answer. Definitely the worst experience I have ever had at Ah Khoo outlet. Her rude behaviour really puts me off. Perhaps I am not the only customer experiencing her rude behaviour. This is such an unpleasant experience.
