★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While the noodles texture felt normal, the Chilli sauce coating it tasted really good, and is supposedly cooked for 6 hours.
Star of the dish should be the very flavourful soup chocked full of ingredients that even has prawns.
Price: S$5 for Medium Sized Bowl.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I must admit although the whole area was my playground, Amoy St Hawker I'm not a veteran .. I prowl the 2 floor for goodies and found this at a constant moderate queue. 4,6,8,10 was the price. I commit to six to see what's up . First impressions was , it's kind of little for 6. I was pleasantly surprised by the noodles texture that was done right. Lard and chilli combo is mouthwatering . The assortment of liver , minced meat, balls and a single prawn doesn't taste half bad. Prawn you know it's fresh sea prawn but the cheaper kind. The very least their quality benchmark was met. Fish ball as advertised was fresh and bouncy. The rest are typically forgettable. Broth was above average with fried shallot and pasley.
Overall a nice touch of classic Bak Chio Mee but a paying 6 in a hawker centre made me frown a little.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The noodles is tasty with a good mix of ingredient in soup albeit a little ex now. The old uncle's attitude is unbelievably poor. He has zero eye contact and rudely ask customers for their order and took the money. It appears like someone owes him big time something/money. The dealings with the aunty and young chap has been pleasant so far.
I know the noodle store is rather popular but dont have to be so arrogant, uncle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located at a Hawker Centre in the heart of the business district, this noodle stall always has a long queue over lunch periods. Fortunately they open early from 7am and late till 3pm, you can always avoid Lunch peak period to get your noodle fix. Now a 3rd gen family business, they opened a posh outlet at Boat Quay, but I will always go to the Amoy outlet for my noodles from Uncle Lim, the 2nd Gen, and an authentic hawker fare ambience. Don't let the sign fool you, the sell here is not Fishball Noodles. Its actually minced pork noodles that also feature hand made fishball. And the biggest umpf is their chilli. Whether I ask for my favourite Mee Pok Ta (sell out fast) or Mee Kia Ta, i will always ask for extra chilli. And if you like the vinegary Teochew style, there's good quality dark vinegar free flow that you can add to your noodles. Their homemade sambal is heavenly. You can even taste the dried shrimps fried into the sambal. Next is the soup. Very tasty Minced Pork soup with plenty of umami, very very addictive. Menu starts from $4/$5/$6. Go big or go home. Noodle portion is similar but the amount of fresh pork, liver, fishball, meatball, and fish cake slices make for super value and a hearty breakfast or lunch. Top Chilli, Top Soup. Though can use a little more lard and not in the soup, yes in the noodles!
March 2021 Update. Like everything else in life perhaps, prices went up and eventually, the quality, value all went down. Little wonder the Boat Quay outlet closed in a jiff. Soup now not as flavourful, minced pork reduced, pork lard non existent, Chilli not as tasty and the Mee Pok a gooey clump. Sorry bud, won't be back in awhile, good luck.
Jan 2022 Update. Came late and everything I wanted is closed. Gave them a go when I shouldn't. No uncle Ter or Hawker Hunk. Sort of a young apprentice cooking. Prices high like the Tai Hwa/Hua Michelin noodles. Went for the $8 cos I like a big bowl of soup to go with the Mee Pok. Not to lie, there is really a lot of ingredients. At least 5 pieces of liver, 2 fish balls and a meat ball, 2 over cooked good size prawns, some sliced fishcakes and now they even add fried sole fish or tee po. Noodles were overcooked. Sauces lack punch or umami and were too sweet, lard bits fail to add umpf and I have to add more vinegar and chilli padi to spike it. It's a lot to eat. Check out newly added pictures. Again won't be in a hurry to come back. But can fall back to if unfortunately what you wanted ran out or closed when you came too late

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Noodles were done softer during this visit. Seasoned well with vinegar and good sambal chilies.
The soup was porky tasty and has a good amount of ingredients of minced pork, fishballs, sliced fishcake and a boiled prawn.
The prices are higher here and portions are smaller. Decided to get $5 version instead after seeing the amount customer before me got for ordering the $4 portion.
