One of the good Zhi Cha stall in S’pore, located near central business district, Amoy Street. Would patronise if I am around the area. You will need to be cultivate patience as the waiting time can be longer than expected. 45 mins ~ 1 hrs 45 mins depend on the time you place your order. Was there on Saturday ever Jing around 7pm. Waited 45 mins, lucky me! Omelette Hor Fun is a must to order (you must have more than 2 pax). The “wok hey” is quite consistent here. Some might find it a bit blend, but, I like it the way they prepared. So when I add in green/red cut chillis, it raised the flavoured. The prawns are always fresh and crunchy. Har Cheong Kai (prawn paste chicken) is another must order. Although the price is above average, but do bear in mind that the rental at Amoy is not cheap. The service also sometime abit haywire due to the ordering systems. Overall, definitely worth.

Taste wise rather on point for stir fried bee hoon seafood. Price wise rather steep for a non aircon place.

Friday dinner peak hour is not a good time to visit. Was served a plate of incredibly salty crispy ee-mee. It tasted like a heated spoon of salt was dumped in. Tried to request for replacement but they just cooked a bland gravy and “replaced” it on the existing noodles — so when they re-served it back, the noodles were just soggy and sad. No apologies, nothing. I ate here 2-3x before and this time was a complete letdown.

It is always heartening to see generations within a family eating at a Zhi Char stall. On a Sunday 6pm, it was practically the only food stall opened in the evening, the other being a Malay drink stall. Wok fried Horfun with black bean sauce. 5-6 thinly sliced beef. The sauce was too watery and lacking wok hei. End of the meal, the sauce was starchy. 3* Fish head with bitter gourd is another classic Cantonese. Unfortunately this failed to impress again. Bitter gourd was too raw. I noticed pork lard in its sauce. Neither wok hei nor the sauce could have save them. 3* Prawn Paste chicken to the rescue! This was the saving grace for them. Plump, moist, flavorsome and importantly shattering crispy. An order came with 10 mid wings which I ate 7 by myself. I see non-stop deep frying of chicken wings by woks! 5* Service is very prompt as the grande dame takes the order and food is delivered in 15 mins.

Omg this place is bomb! I found this by accident and was about to leave! Came in at 5;30 and the hawker center was closed so i was about to turn to leave . …. So glad i didnt leave because the sweet and sour pork ribs here are freaking fire! That and the prawn paste chicken wings were both so delicious. They sre known for the noodles but i absolutely love those two dishes! Btw its crowded

A little gem tucked away in Amoy Street Food Centre that is opened in the night on a weekend! Quite a healthy crowd and vibrant area. The service is prompt and arrival of food after ordering is quite fast. The quality of food is above average. The stir fried kai lan with sliced fish is extremely tasty, as the store added in pork lard! The prawn paste fried chicken is not too bad and very popular. The fried omelette is also good and big in portion for the smallest size. The only let down for me is the salt and pepper fried pork ribs, which are a tad too bland, though they are tender and easy to eat. Overall still a nice place to makan with your family and friends.
