★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vadai or vada is available in all shapes and sizes. We can find them sold in restaurants as well as tiny operations run in food court. They are best enjoyed with fresh chilli in the humid monsoon season.

I asked to buy 1 vadai thinking if it’s good I’ll get more. I was so shocked when the auntie rudely told me off saying they don’t sell 1 only. Minimum is 2 pieces. I replied never mind and hurriedly walked away...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decided to support the hawkers at Amoy (CBD) and chance upon Original Vadai. Bought a coupe of prawns and ikan bilis vadai for ourselves and some extras for our neighbors. After offloading all my takeaways, we did decided to eat a vadai in the car and it was out of this world. I put my mask back on and went back to the stall to buy more..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I notice the size of the vadai is smaller then their other vadai stall although it the same price. This particular stall fried too many vadai to stand by and they keep selling the cold ones first, despite me asking for fresh one. Vadai is best to eat while it's hot so as not to lose it crispyness. The cold one I had is oily and not crispy at all. Will ban this Stall, no wonder no crowd compared to golden mile market.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prawn Vadai. A fusion dish that was first made famous in the popular Geylang Serai Hari Raya Bazaar. Highly recommended to eat it while it is hot and if you are a chili person, have it with the green chili!
