★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought 2 slices of cake that were not fresh. The cakes were dry and hard. Called the store and staff confirmed it is an overnight cake but insisted it is fresh because Bengawan Solo apparently sells overnight cakes and according to the staff, their cakes can be kept for 2 days in the store.
The string of negative reviews on its Facebook page and having a company that sells overnight cakes and yet refuses to take responsibility when their is issue with the poor quality and freshness of its products is appalling. This is a sheer sign of arrogance and lack of responsibility and professionalism.
I will be skipping Bengawan for awhile till the reviews prove that the old standards are maintained and the company shows responsibility for its misses.
