Butternut Tree Hotel - 22 Teck Lim Rd

Will definitely be coming back again! The staff assisting us all are very friendly. We booked the wrong room type and its small for us and has no window, decided to talk with the staff and we paid for the room upgrade to L room with window. Our new room was spacious and with window. The hotel decoration are very cute. Location very great as its located in the middle of Chinatown and Outram MRT which only around 10Mins walk. Many eateries around the area. Hotel has this disinfect machine at the lobby where they will turn on before we check-in which is very cool as i dont see it in other hotels. We have our room in level 2 and when we use the lift it suddenly stopped and back to level 1. It turns out that because we have 3 people and lift only can go with max 2 people as the lift is very old as per the staff. Kindly prepare SGD100 for the deposit upon check-in. We book through Agoda and still need the deposit and its their policy. Overall, we have a really good experience staying there. The place is cosy, despite located in a busy area at night but it still quiets in the room or maybe because we were facing the back alley. All staff are friendly, they will say hello to us every time they see us, and we feel very welcomed in this hotel.

Needs to improve on customer service, water is not provided daily and have to be obtained at counter. Facilities looks a little run down. Toilets have an odor probably due to its piping system.

Very dusty room, sparsely furnished. TV does not have local channels and only 1 satellite movie channel which is blurry and shuts off every few seconds by itself. Onli 1 counter receptionist who will reply that she can't leave the counter and asked you to find the only housekeeping uncle yourself to settle the TV issue. The only housekeeping guy (doubling up as the maintenance guy) then came jus to inform you that every TV in every room is like that and he will inform front desk. ?

Pretty bad service by the staff. Was told not to expect housekeeping daily for a 2 star hotel, while the previous similar hotels I stayed does. Wifi is incredibly slow, room looks incredibly beautiful outdated. Could easily find a better alternative than this junkyard site.

Disappointed.. Gotten the M room for a night's stay. 1) Toilet flush - have to hold for super long for the water to flush down that we thought it was spoilt at first. 2) Bathroom door cant lock 3) No bath amenities - had to buy our own shampoo and bodywash. there is a bottle of lotion though... but for what? lol 4) not worth it for the price, and they collect a deposit of $100 (only refund after 14 - 21 days like eh that's quite long) 5) Receptionist was rather nice and friendly as compared to most of the reviews here (when we feedback on the toilet) 6) Bed and all is okok however, there are better deals out there with the same pricing.

Some staff very friendly handle guest who check in early. I’m enjoy chit chat with her, unfortunately didn’t manage to her name. Very gentle & nice lady. But I had very very bad experience when come to check out. No BASIC greetings to guest just nock the door & inform Ur Late Check out 30min will charge 30Dollor. I’m like Why ? Didn’t received any call when I’m busy in room forgot the time? She not friendly at All & still Rude with me even I explain she no listening & still thank you also not mention. I very disappointed this kind of service happen this hotel. (Her name call :Irah )Maybe she not in the work mood or what ,that’s not right if didn’t do well on the BASIC customer gesture. Really given Bad image for the hotel.

Great location, one lady behind the counter was quite kind, but the rooms are just straight up filthy. I'm not particularly picky and can accept quite a few shortcomings, but the walls have all kinds of old dirt and stains on them, the ceiling looks moldy, I did not want to touch the bathroom "door", the towels are literally falling apart, the linens have holes in them... Apart from the somewhat pretty entrance, everything else looks utterly deprecated, old, in dire need of repair or replacement, etc. The location is the only thing this hotel has going for it. I'd advise actually entering the room first before checking in.
