One of my fav stalls in this area.... clear herberlicious soup, noodles with perfect sauce mixture... just right amount of vinegar... more meat would be epic, but still my go to.

An old name in Bak Chor Mee. The noodles are throughly cooked and this allows the seasoning to blend better with the noodles. Taste wise is stronger on vinegar and chilli is not that spicy, mushroom taste is not overpowering. Ingredients are pretty fresh and soup packs some power. If such a standard is maintained with all outlets, they can certainly make a comeback.

Have been going here for 15 years, the original owner started this, and Ive seen him evolve the noodles, and the chilli is the key ingredient, the process of cooking the noodles, meat, the mushrooms, and the manor of tossing the noodles in the mixture of chilli paste and oil and vinegar, nevrr changes. Good value for money.

Tried the Bak Chor Mee and definitely worth recommending. Noodle has extremely great texture. Remains chewy and does not clump together even when left for a while. Gravy is well-mixed with excellent vinegar. The best part of it is the teochew meatball, which wraps homemade seasoned minced meat in a layer of soft chewy meat paste.

You can savour the vinegar, pork lard and chilli taste infused into the chewy noodles. My favourite option will be the mini wok noodles. The mini wok come with generous portion of meat, pork liver, fishball, fish cake slices, egg and Fuzhou fishball. The Fuzhou fishball is delicious with juicy mince meat and small portion of soup wrapped inside. Enjoyed the fragrance noodles with the constantly hot soup from the mini wok.

Normal mince pork noodles, the meatballs is nice as there is meat within the meat and it is quite flavourful but the soup is very blend without any taste.

Bak Chor Mee (SGD $4) @ Chai Chee Noodle Village. . They formerly had 14+ stalls islandwide, but have since been reduced to this lone stall manned by the owner. . The soup is supposedly made with 18 ingredients, including old hen, turnip, and luncheon meat; resulting in a clear broth that carries bold sweet savoury flavour. . I also like their pork meat balls, which have a hollow center filled with minced meat. Bite in and the meat juice bursts out, with a satisfying meaty savoury salty flavour. . The braised shiitake mushrooms are thick sliced and chunky, with a pleasant tender chew and vegetal earthy salty sweet flavour. . The gravy coats the chewy mee pok / wide flat egg noodles well, and tends towards being more spicy savoury in taste, will suit those who prefer a milder vinegar taste.

This was probably the famous Chai Chee Fishball Noodle, a franchise chain Islandwide. Saw quite a long queue, so give it a try. Yes, worthy a try. Their flavor was good n balanced. Especially their chilli and seasoning. And their noodles was cooked well, not too soft nor under cooked. Overall, it was a well cooked noodles with great flavor. Will visit again. ?
