Chong Pang Old-time flavor - 51 Old Airport Rd

Another place to buy cheap and good castella is Chong Pang Old-Time Flavor located inside Old Airport Road Food Centre. Their plain castella is $4.80 and Cheese Castella is $6.80. Although the portion is slightly smaller but is value for money. The castella is soft, delicious and fluffy like the traditional taste. It is cheaper because it is a hawker stall but the taste is just as good. They have many varieties of breads, tarts, castella, and pastries. Worth trying. Today, we went to Old Airport Road Food Centre to patronize those favourite stalls again. We bought Golden Cheese Castella at $6.80 and Traditional Castella at $4.80. No change in price and portion. The only change was the cheese Castella was called "Golden Cheese" now. Just as good as 8 months ago in both Castella. ?

I love their castella cakes (take the kaya one) and also the otah bread. This is the first stall I’ve seen that has such soft and tasty bread with parmesan cheese on top and a whole otah inside the bread! Also, their prices are so reasonable. It’s $1.40 for the otah bread.

Such a hidden gem! Love the variety and its freshness! I will come back another day for their castella cake and buns.

Tried the fluffy cheese cake which was hot from the oven - nice! Egg tarts are great too!

I paid for my egg tarts but then received with this note? Not like i did not pay for the tarts and they are giving muffins for FREE. You are just replacing the items and not giving it for free to me and did not even contact me to ask if I'm okay with their arrangement!

Delicious castella cakes and muffins. My favorite is the kaya pandan muffin. Will try their tarts next time!

The castella cake is nice, and tastes a little on the eggy side. It is soft and freshly made. The chocolate muffin was also good. The salted tau sar piah were crispy but not our favourite.
