Hua Kee Hougang Famous Wan Ton Mee - 51 Old Airport Rd

Decent fried wonton mee. Not greasy, right amount of spice. Excellent broth. Very reasonably priced.

To me, Hua Kee will always be the best Wanton Mee in Singapore. When I'm sad, I would take the train down from Pasir Ris to Dakota just to have my hearty plate of Hua Kee Wanton Noodles. Everything about it is perfection - the wanton, the thin slices of charsiew, the noodles, and the freaking amazing sauce!! It just hits different. Really love this place. So excited that my sister will be moving to Dakota soon. I'll visit her(e) often! ? hahahaha ?? My personal favourite is #4: Mixed Fried + Boiled Wanton Noodles (S: $4.50 / M: $5.50 / L: $6.50)

$:Below S$5. It was very good Wanton noodle. One of my favorite in Singapore. If you like a bit spicy noodle, I recommend you to try here. Hardness of noodle was just nice for me and Wanton was so nice. Some of the person says service is not good. But for me, it was not bad and not big difference from other hawker stalls. There was not so long queue. So you don't need to wait so much.

Standard dropped a lot and bad service by a lady with pony tail.. the noodles tasted so so only.. the wanton cannot make it.. the dumpling is $1/piece and it is full of meat more than prawns and not compact enough.. like when I have a bit of it, the rest of the ingredients inside the dumpling will fell.. service is bad as the lady(not sure if she is lady boss) was fierce and black face..we don’t owe you a living and we don’t deserve such service from you.. Definitely my last time there because the standard has dropped so so much! Overall damage: $6 ($4 + $2 dumpling($1/pc))

I was impressed with the awards and recognitions this store has display on its stall front. As usual, I ordered the number 1 menu on the display board and small portion. A generous serving of noodle, wanton and char siew indeed.

Noodles were very subpar, doesn't have the nice springy texture that I use as a benchmark. Wontons were also slightly broken and felt starchy. Overall quite a disappointment and would not come back for this.

This wan ton mee is a childhood favourite. Springy noodles with a sweeter sauce base. $4 wan ton mee has very little char siew!

Noodle and wanton were cold and noodle not well cooked. Taste was terrible. Char Siew had a weird taste to eat. And queued for more than half an hour for this ???
