Buffet no longer existed due to covid19 but the set meal was delicious and value for money. I love the retro interior design and the curry chicken was sedap (delicious) and rich with coconut milk!

Great variety of food and super nice porridge for the price point! Do also know that the price of the porridge buffet dinner on weekend is now 20.80!

Visited with two other family members on a Sunday afternoon. They have two lunch sessions, we took the later session of 1.45pm to 3.15pm late lunch option. We came in from the rear entrance from the drop off point after parking, and it is what it is as I'm afraid as a first impression. A tired and dark low level hotel cafe. Luckily we were placed at a bright table near the entrance. Relatively clean at that. At first I was told it's like a Teochew Porridge. No braised duck or any blanched fish, so nope, not a Teochew Porridge buffet. On the menu it's stated as a Taiwanese Porridge Buffet. Then what is Roti Prata, Satay, and Hokkien Mee doing here? Also there are no Fried Pig Intestines, Taiwanese Sausage of the likes. If I were to place it, it's like a 2 Star hotel's Breakfast buffet also serving Lunch, Brunch and Dinner the same buffet offering. An air-conditioned environment for free flow Mixed Vege Rice and Porridge or our ไป€่œ้ฅญ free flow. Standards of offerings are indeed also mixed vege rice standards below Zichar standards. Our buffet meal for 3 pax amounted to $20.80 per person, thus $62.40 plus 10% service charge and 7% GST thus near $25 per head. In summary, if we were to visit a proper Teochew Porridge, at the same price we could have a nice fish, decent braised duck and some sides for the same total price. We were simply not big eaters and none of the offerings here left an impression. The Biggest disappointment were the braised items, which were too cinnamon heavy and too sweet, instead of soy sauce fragrance and lack other key spices such as star anise. One star for the quick and efficient service, another for reasonably fresh food. But that's it. In my opinion, it's hard for me to find a reason to come back.

Lots of the "same ol' same ol'" around here. It's a Chinese buffet...even for breakfast. You'll get stuffed eating here because even though your choices are limited, they're still pretty tasty.

Wife found this place serving Taiwan porridge and we decided to come here to give it a try The restaurant still checks for vaccination status via TraceTogether and also provides plastic gloves to customers to grab their food servings (nice!) The porridge comes with standard dishes best served with it , like trotters, garlic stir fry fish, prawns, toufu, chicken feet etc Even fruits and simple desserts makes the buffet lunch complete:) Definitely a place worth coming back if you truely love porridge and dishes Thumbs up for the find !

Very dated Chinese restaurant serving Teochew porridge buffet.. the ingredients were nice but honestly at 22 it is not cheap. Yes you get to binge eat fried snapper , chicken and pork which is nice and the โ€œLiaoโ€ like their tau pok and Muay Cai is really nice but 22 cannot beat the value of buffet like Astonโ€™s salad bar. Mango sago, cakes, fruits and ice cream is surprisingly nice and so the 1 more star in an otherwise 3 star review

Has been patronising this cafe and for that price, (comรณn) one cannot ask for more lah! (Where can you find a $24 (tax included) BUFFET in Singapore now??) If you want a simple meal with a few friends, I personally feel that this is quite a good place. Because it's cosy and it's not that rowdy. Moreover, the restaurant is really spacious. To be honest, the food is not '5-star' quality but ok. As they changed their menu (buffet spread) constantly, sometimes, you'll get a few really good ones... Like we had Braised Duck yesterday and it was really good! Most dishes are more towards the 'sweet' side and it really feels like more 'Taiwanese' than your usual Teochew porridge in Singapore. It's like making Teochew porridge in a Taiwanese style. The service is very 'old school'... It's more for practicalities than anything else. Some people might find them 'rude' but I feel the stuff are just doing their jobs... Please don't expect a '5-star-hotel' service. ? One thing I need to mention is that - If you like dishes like pork trotter and 'phoenix feet' (braised chicken feet), please go as early rounds as possible! I know it sounds strange... But it always happens - Once they change (and refill) the batches, it'll no longer be as nice and soft. I don't know what's the reason but I guess they didn't cook for enough time and that's why the dishes will become more and more 'tough' as you eat it. I wonder why they didn't see the 'problem'... It pretty persistent. Will still go once in a while as the price is really affordable.

I found this restaurant while walking along Killiney road (for the first time for me), attracted by back in the days era deco + affordable price for buffet 18.8++. I didn't particularly like steam fish, braised chicken, chicken feet and cabbage but the rest was quite tasty, especially beef stew. Some of desserts were surprisingly nicer than expected and I also liked coconut icecream a lot. Definitely can come back again for sure at least I know which ones to choose next time!
