β β β β β 2021/2022 update:
My fam's skin suffered a relapse (we don't know the cause) and this time it involved 2 hospitalisations due to the extensive breakage of skin (about 75% of his body; the previous time it was about 45% of his body). I feel it is necessary to update because:
The previous time this happened, there was no hospitalisation involved because Dr Chan managed the skin condition well. He gave us PP wash* and further skin deterioration was pretty much stopped in its tracks so healing could take place with the vigour of youth.
We didn't know how PP wash was a brilliant medical move until the hospitalisations this year, when skin was continuously weeping and there were awful high fevers at least twice a day, with chills, shakes and fingers turning blue.
We were given PP wash much, much later in the ordeal and it was then that we realised Dr Chan is indeed experienced. The hospital prescribed it late in the process, while Dr Chan was decisive in his prescriptions and we completely avoided hospitalisations; we just didn't know it at the time.
Sometimes it does take hindsight to even more deeply appreciate someone's level of expertise.
My fam's skin condition has ultimately - developed? diagnosed? - as psoriasis, and is currently healing. For those who are looking for help for skin, Dr Chan is a very good choice.
*Note: PP wash is Potassium Pemanganate - the stuff we played with in secondary school during chem class. It kills germs and dries up weepy skin. I'm also not the best person (cause no medical, pharmaceutical papers) to explain the effects and usages, best to check with Dr Chan if it's appropriate for you. So far it's helped my fam in a big way.
Keep your spirits up if you've skin conditions! Your value and beauty is far, far more than just how you look. It took eczema, hospital stays and psoriasis for my fam to really recognise that. After all, a $1,000 dollar note ground into the tarmac with the heel is still as valuable; you are worth more than $1,000.
$2,000, maybe.
K lah jokes aside. I hope you recognise your immense value too. Keep your spirits up! GAMBATTE

First trip: late 2019. Humorous doctor, very confident. Staff are lovely and nice. Came here recommended by a friend who got her eczema under very good control.
Will update on progress in some time!
Update 8 months later (Aug 2020): stopped medication during covid lockdown - got expensive as each trip cost about $200. Skin sadly did not get better, it got worse during the time of treatment here. Having said that, National Skin centre also had no solution so no blame here. Skin issues ARE quite tricky.
Ironic thing was that ginger helped. Drinking boiled ginger and using the pulverised paste on skin overnight helps with the itching and scratching. Two months of that and skin is smooth, minimal itching.
Note and disclaimer: skin conditions differ between people and this may not be a cure for you, however ginger is very good for itching when applied externally, esp deep itching. Natural and cheap - for when you are desperate for relief and want to avoid too much medication. It can also get messy so be prepared.
Keep being hopeful; my famβs condition is greatly under control without medication now. Doctor Chanβs definitely a helpful part of our journey.

β β β β β I was suffering for 3-4 weeks with my rashes/allergic reaction/eczema outbreak, but Dr Chan's prescribed treatment/medication reduced it drastically within 4 days! i'm so impressed because i have tried lots of creams and medications before but nothing has ever worked this effectively. I would also think his fees are quite affordable compared to all the specialist dermatology clinics. Just that the waiting can be very long sometimes and you can't book an appointment beforehand, only walk ins so waiting is unavoidable. Thank you so much dr chan, will definitely be coming back here again if i have another outbreak in the future

β β β β β Went to see Dr Chan, am a returning patient. Went at 415pm. Was told by one of the counter staff that they are closed. The cut off time was 4pm. About to leave then another one of them say they will register me this time in future try to come early. So I was doing registration halfway and was given a number. I was the last patient. No issue for me, willing to wait. But then when I ask roughly how long I have to wait cos I haven't eaten anything since morning. Wanted to grab a bite and come back. Then she tell me cannot. Cannot go out have to sit inside and wait. Wow. Wait for 1 to 2 hours since I am the last one. Why don't allow me to grab a bite. Cos they are famous then got weird weird rules. Let's just see how this kind of service will last them.

β β β β β ALWAYS CALL IN TO CHECK IF THEY ARE OPEN ON THAT DAY. Don't risk the surprise that they are closed. :)
Waiting time: 45 - 75mins upon getting a queue number.
Price: Consultation fee is $30. My prescription for 1 month supply is $124, very fair.
Consultation: Dr Chan is quite humourous. I'll not spoil the experience for you but go in with an open mind to learn. He educates patient about the cause of acne and he reminds me of Uncle Roger.
Duration for skin to recover: He advised me to give it 6 months for long lasting result, medication is meant to reduce oil in your body, so the unripe ance will surface after some time before your skin starts to clear and heal.
Overall: Front desk staffs are efficient, direct and dutiful. They make sure to call the queue no and double check if patient is waiting outside before skipping the number. Come on weekday non peak hour if you don't wanna be waiting for more than an hour.
MY EXPERIENCE:
Week 1-3 - redness and acne surfaced more than ever but also cleared up by 3rd week. Still see some bumps and roughness on the surface. Those are acnes that are not ripen yet.
Week 4 (PHOTO) - redness reduced, ance still riping, I can feel the unripe acne underneath my skin too. Skin is still rough, keep hydrating ?
Week 5-7 - doc gave me a different medication so my skin can be cleared before my wedding ? Prescribe different medication and up the dosage.
Week 8-10 (PHOTO) - I reduced the dosage because my lips are peeling a lot, it got better afterwards. More acne surfaced but they are not inflamed, just.. ripen haha, so I squeeze them and continue to clean my face daily, 2-4 times a day. As I see how my skin is healing each day, I'm more hopeful and excited to see the result in a few weeks time! Initial weeks was worth going through!
Week 11-14 (PHOTO) - skin cleared up a lot!! Acne scars lighten as well, acne that surfaced now are just small bumps, easy to remove, my skin has smoothen a lot :')
Week 15-17 (PHOTO) - never had such clean, smooth skin that lasted for long period of time.
Week 18-19 (PHOTO) - At this point, I'm just maintaining my skin condition, there's still some discoloration due to previous acne scars, but wow I have no complaints because my skin has never been better. One recent acne on my forehead because of the good food I've been eating, so that's pretty normal. Like I mentioned, acne is no long inflamed ? the journey has been very worthwhile for me.

β β β β β A couple of months back I had an itchy & red patch (50cents size) on my left jawline and a tiny red spot on my right eyelid. Dr Chan mentioned it was a fungi infection and also said bcos I scratched it (jaw) and touched other surfaces, it moved to my eye area.
Anyhow, was given a UDM cream and left the clinic. Still quite bewildered how I could get fungi on my face at that time.
The same patch returned a month and this time more tiny patches appeared, so I spammed more UDM cream. But it didn't work anymore.
Long story short: please visit a *certified dermatologist* to fix your skin issue and not a GP.
I actually had eczema instead of the so-called "fungi infection".

β β β β β Seconding the most recent review of Dr Chanβs clinic ? I went down today for a first visit and it was closed - there was just a sign on the door stating that theyβll be closed 27/28/29th May (even though their Google hours mentioned that they would be open).
If the team could take on the feedback from before and update online about their opening hours itβll be great! ??
Update: went down today and it was open! They mentioned that they were taking a break but theyβll be open Mondays - Saturdays (closed in the evenings and Sundays) from here on.
Dr Chan was friendly and empathetic, sharing his insight about skin issues and how to remedy them. Was issued medication and advised to go back after 4 weeks.

β β β β β Dr Chan is humorous and their cream is effective for skin issue but only problem is their customer service experience. Don't know when they open/close and refused to pick up phone despite calling many times. So always have to go down at your own risk. Don't understand why a simple task of answering phone call is so difficult for them and making their patience waste their time coming down when they are closed.

β β β β β I have been a customer since 2006 despite having moved out of the northeast area. However, there have been too many occasions of the clinic closing randomly, or taking extended holiday for weeks (out of the public holiday festive periods). I think customers will greatly appreciate it if the clinic can post updates online so that they do not need to make a wasted trip down. Really hope that this suggestion will be carried out. Thanks.
