I started Pilates on 27 of May 2022 at Elements Pilates with Elsie. I am loving it especially because of Elsie, she's my Pilates teacher, instructor, master, specialist, guru or whatever you call it. I am 56 now, and exercise regularly; until now weight training at the gym, Taekwondo and cycling over the last 30 years. Over the last weeks since I started my one-to-one Pilates sessions, Elsie taught me very important things like how to breathe, stand (tall), walk, and to recruit muscles I never knew I had--especially abdomen, upper back, and the fart-holding-muscles, i.e. core muscles we hear a lot about. --"Connect! Connect!" as she says all the time. Why Pilates? Because it makes my body movements balanced, coordinated, smooth and controlled (I consciously recruit my muscles). Therefore, when doing my weights exercise or practicing Taekwondo I don't hurt my joints, tendons and muscles as I used to do before. This seems to be increasingly important as I age and still want to keep physically active as if I were 16 (mental age is 6 according to my wife). Elsie is the enabler, the person that knows how to explain and pass her Pilates skills so I can apply it to my body correctly. I do 3 one-to-one 1-hour sessions per week, and I can see results already in my posture, overall balance and flexibility, as well as improved performance during my gym exercises. With Elsie observing each movement and form, the muscles I recruit, and explaining how to do it right during the entire session is what makes the difference. The focus is serious on Pilates, but it is a lot of fun, pleasant, and mentally relaxing to me--at the cost of her sanity?. I guess she's exhausted after my sessions. All that said, I love her, I trust her, and treasure her work very much. #Pilates #TanglinPlace #rehabilitation

Have been practicing pilates with Elsie for close to 10years! Always feel great after a session at her studio as she truly understands my issues, helps to correct my posture and builds my core muscles! Highly recommended :)

I am thankful to have met Elsie through the pilates group class. I have since joined Elsie on 1-1 class for 6 months. I feel rejuvenated attending her weekly class. She respects the individual body’s alignment needs, and she tailors the exercises to train up the core muscles. She is knowledgeable, she makes each lesson fun for me to develop more body awareness and focus on the mind and body connection. After these months, I said bye-bye to my frequent foot cramps and backache. I certainly look forward to continuing the Pilates journey with Elsie.
