Edit: I went there when the place was named "Surabaya". I have not been there under the new brand I have been here many times before and today was my first time trying their Fried Tilapia Fish and Terong Balado (not-so-spicy eggplant). The fish was crispy on the outside but meat at the inside was still tender. Its salty taste combined with spiciness of chili and sweetness of black soy sauce is heaven. The eggplant was also tasty although it was not as spicy as expected. But texture was still firm and I guess they put garlic (or fried it with garlic), which gave the garlicky taste which I love a lot. Conclusion, good things come in pairs so you should try them together for guilty (read: oily) pleasure.

Nice authentic Indonesian food and the only place I know in Singapore at the moment that serves Nasi Gudeg (stewed young jackfruit). Enak banget!

Nothing so special about this but it’s really good nevertheless! I had the geprek w Balinese sos - L3. As a non-spicy eater, this was quite ok on my tongue. Really love the side dishes that came together with this geprek.

One of my new favorite Indonesian food eatery! I was so glad when I found out that I could order via whatsapp and arranged my own courier because I stay in the east and rarely got the chance to go Orchard. Tried almost everything in their menu and none was ever disappointing. My favorites are soto betawi, ayam geprek, batagor and tempe bacem. My hubby and I are tempeh (soybean cake) lovers, so we love to try tempeh dishes every chance we got, and we never find tempeh bacem (seasoned tempeh) anymore in Singapore after the last eatery that had it closed down long ago. We were elated that Gading have it, and it was very very delicious! Sadly it was unavailable this time around, but it definitely become our must order dish. The ayam geprek is tender, generous portion and great with any kind of sambal, have tried the sambal mercon, kemangi and bali - all were amazingly good with different levels of spiciness. The soto betawi soup is so rich I always finish it till the last drop. And the batagor taste authentic and very nice, just that the portion is a bit small for its price. Tried the martabak in two separate occasions, black charcoal (chocolate and cheese with charcoal dough) and classic (chocolate, cheese, peanuts). Had the classic one with add-on wijsman dutch butter at additional $4 and no peanuts. Both were amazing! Adding wijsman butter just made it even more delicious, the extra cost was a tad pricey though, maybe I’d say it’s worth it if it were $3 price point. Overall, Gading offers great Indonesian food that I will definitely love to order again and again.

Not many places I can find decent martabak. They sell martabak taste like Indonesian style with chocolate, cheese, and nuts. Haven't really tried other flavor yet. Might try again when I visit there again. The serving time is quite long though. Took about 25 minutes. Tried the batagor as well. It was good but the price was a bit high. Might try other like the soto and siomay next time.

Gading Street Food was Warung Surabaya. Located inside Lucky Plaza. They got rebranded from local food Jawa Timur, fried chicken, sayur asam kind of food with new, fresh looking, simple minimalist dynamic concept kind of food stall by selling nasi ayam geprek, nasi gudeg, nasi uduk, and martabak manis with disposable packaging. Their nasi ayam geprek was nice, complete with some stir fried longbean, shredded omelette and spicy sambal, but for nasi gudeg please do not expect that Jawa Tengah (Central Java) type of gudeg, it's also something new for me that used to eat Jawa Tengah / Jawa Timur preserved young jackfruit (gudeg) kind of food. Maybe it's more like Sunda (West Java) kind of food since they sell nasi liwet. When you come to this place you should take it as a new adventure and new experience. It's a great place to get fusion Indonesian food, with great portion and great price. The martabak manis was nice. The good thing is we can request not too sweet since our threshold has changed. The staffs are attentive and friendly. They're actively looking for some suggestion and feedback from the customer.

Hidden away in the bustling Lucky Plaza, Gading Street Food is a great place to find Indonesian food. Delicious food! And not to skip their "martabak manis" (Indonesian min chiang kueh). Available via online delivery too.

A gem that located at 2nd floor of Lucky Plaza. It's Indonesian kind of stall (depot makan). Couple times we tried their food and we found that their ayam geprek with sambal bali / matah is the must have item when you're here. The price was justify the taste and amount of the food. Their fried boneless chicken was nice, the fragant rice and everything was in generous portion. We tried their other sambal but nothing can beat their sambal bali, the rice vermicelli toward hot & strong white pepper-y smell and taste. One of the same staffs couple times looked so unfriendly, maybe too tired after working long hour but wore a mask still couldn't hide the look. Since the person's working in service industry he needs to spread the joy, welcoming spirit and friendliness. Since their sweet martabak is really sought after, it's better for you to order the sweet martabak in advance as they have a limited slot in a day.
