Best Japanese restaurant in Singapore

p	punyshark on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked past this shop at the entrance of Seletar small, was welcomed inside by a friendly young waitress girl. Ordered an Okinawa Char Siew and Ebi Fry. The Char Siew just melts in your mouth. It tastes nice and smoky. Can see them actually BBQing the pork! Would be great if they could give slightly more sauce on the rice. Great value for money and very conveniently located next to Fernvale LRT. You can expect to spend about $12-$50 here. Oh! Also please include non-sugared drink options like iced water, ayataka green tea or oolong tea on your menu in future. Thanks!

Can't comment much about service quality because I ordered takeaway (heightened alert phase) but it was fun watching how the staff grilled the meat. Pork tastes great as it is grilled with charcoal, though I find some of the fatty parts slightly under cooked and a tad too soft to be properly chewed. I do think that it is impressive how the fragrance of the grilled pork still lingers in the container although I ate it more than 30 minutes after buying ? The rice was too moist to my liking; it was wet all the way to the bottom so probably not due to the condensation in the takeaway container. The miso soup is fine, but it may be too salty for those who don't particularly like super flavourful food. May consider trying other dishes here next time if there are other promotions. Fingers crossed!

Only issue with the pork belly don as it had a strange plastic smell that was quite strong and unpleasant. Complained to the staff and was told it's normal due to how the pork belly is processed. Very odd explanation. I highly doubt it. But good that they allowed us to switch for the char siew pork don instead even though my hubby had eaten 2-3 spoons already. Kudos to the staff for that.
J	JasJas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurant was rather empty. Cashier made one feel really unwelcomed. First time having the steamboat and we took a while to order. Cashier gave the impatient look n was not helpful with recommendations. No queue behind us too. Fortunately, food was tasty.
C	Chan Melzone on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I bought the Tenderloin set for $18.80, expecting a hearty meal. However, the measly portion of sesame seeds was, by all measures of assessment, insufficient. I asked the server for more sesame seeds and, et viola, please see photo attached. It was only after I walked up to the kitchen and asked for more sesame seeds that the staff gave me half a small spoonful. I'm attaching the recommendation from the restaurant as a comparison for a recommended portion size in order for me to enjoy "The Real Good Taste of Tonkotsu". I can only surmise that there is a worldwide sesame shortage. Needless to say, there shall not be a repeat experience for me. It is not worth the money, nor the time taken to engage the kitchen staff. じゃ??

Z	Zhen Yu Yip on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waiting time was long. Approx 20-30mins. The bellota loin katsu (cheese) was pretty flavourful and the mozzarella cheese was stretchy and delicious. However, the meat was kind of tough and a lil dry. The side (octopus karaage) that I bought was no where near how it was shown in the pictures and the quantity was pitiful.
