Chance upon this place while leaving somerset, came immediately the next day to try! Didn't regret! Pricing is very reasonable for town area, with food that's worth coming back for. Very pleasant experience! Creative way to get social distancing done?

This is a very small restaurant with not much ambience, but the cute soft toys make up for it! The beef bowl looked very small, but it is definitely filling haha. I have no complaints about it at all - the beef is nice and tender, the rice is flavourful, the yoghurt sauce is delicious and cuts through the heaviness, and the egg brings everything together. The mentaiko tamago was good too. A good option if you're looking to eat at somerset!

Wagyu roast beef don x2 at SGD25 using Burpple deal. The bowl looks like a mini portion given although it tasted pretty good - soft and tender. Wouldn’t recommend to try if you are really hungry as it definitely wouldn’t fill your stomach.

Small dining areas. Limited choice of food in the menu. Goodness the Wagyu Beef Donburi mini bowl is affordable, quality Japanese rice well cooked, Miso soup considered diluted. Overall service is friendly and nice.

we had the beef and unagi bowls. the food is excellent, i especially loved the wagyu beef. portions are pretty small but can’t really complain, given the high quality, great taste, and low price point. a similar wagyu beef bowl in any other restaurant will be at least double the price. highly recommended!

This small little japanese eating place at Orchard Gateway Basement serves surprisingly nice Japanese donburi rice bowl. Although the choices are limited but the quality of the food served is way above the 1st impression you get when you walk into the shop. The Waygu, Unagi or Salmon Donburi all sell for $15/set and comes with refillable miso soup. Boss is super friendly and I'll definitely visit again.

An interesting little shop. The left and right walls are populated with posters of Japanese-related events or exhibitions. Near the end of the room is a tall rack filled with anime figurines. Reminds me of the old eateries you would see in Zetsumeshi Road, though business seems brisk here. Based on pictures from 2018, the deco of the shop seems more eclectic and lively now. Tried the Wagyu Beef Donburi and the Tamago Mentaiko, and Chicken Yakitori. The Wagyu Beef Donburi arrived looking like a mountain with a streak of snow running down one side. Pinkish beef slices wrapped around rice make up the body of the mountain. At the top of that mountain, a pool of flowy egg yolk. I really like the presentation, though it also made me hesitant to start eating it haha. The beef slices were nicely cooked to medium rare (I think) so it's really tender. It goes very well with the sauce, rice, and egg yolk. Very hearty, this don. My only nitpick about this dish is that the meat to rice ratio could be better as it seems the meat gets destroyed by me too quickly. Highly recommend. The Tamago Mentaiko is a nice snack. Personally I love tamagoyaki, so this hits the spot for me. Love the sweet eggy taste, and the Mentaiko made it even better. My partner found it so-so. The Chicken Yakitori is another nice snack. Has a nice charred flavor and the sauce is on the sweet side. Recommended. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. Highly recommended!

Very convenient location with a friendly owner. The Signature Wagyu Roast Beef Don has generous rice portion. You can top up $5 for various sides and you must try the Teriyaki Chicken Bites because they are smelt amazingly charred and very tender! Overall, great for a simple dinner with a friend!
