Hai Nan Hometown Curry - 20 Ghim Moh Rd

Visited on 12Jun20 at 5pm. Bought 2 packet of curry chicken, 1 pork chop rice, 2 rice and bread. The curry was lukewarm and not hot.Curry is sweet and chicken portion is ok, pork chop not tasty as the pork chop is like frozen food and reheated. The bread was missing when I wanted to dip in curry. Not recommended.

Wanting to try this place for some time now, it always closes early thus it is already closed after work. Finally managed to make it before they closed, I have to say their curry is quite nice. Not too spicy, oily nor coconutty. All of the flavors just combined nicely. The portion size is quite decent too, ordered the small size curry mutton with a 50 cents rice, that was big quite big. The sauce is slightly thicken by starch, which was okay. I have had curry thicken too much like slime or glue which is not nice, but this place did thicken it just enough. The curry had quite a lot of meat in it, and two large chunks of well cooked melt in your mouth potatoe in it. It was a nice satisfying meal.

Curry was not thin like before,owner has taken feedback from previous suggestions, lot of people complained that young staff is rude. However wn I went young man was actually preparing food n middle aged man was taking order. He seemed ok, portion was generous but not as good or tasty as the Bukit panjang location, thy don't give any soy sauce or chilli sauce to adjust seasoning, the curry is not salty enough

Came at 4pm and not much choice in this market…decided to try this and taste me pricing is quite alright. The $1 add on for vege curry is no brainer. The lamb curry really have lamb taste meaning they really cook all the curry separately. Lotsa effort.

I absolutely love the curry here, highly recommended! You can order a main here like a chicken cutlet curry rice, and get a small bowl of curry vegetables to go with it for $1. If you want a bigger bowl of this delicious curry vegetables, you can pay $3. Usually I go away from the meal feeling full and satisfied.

The curry taste just ok, when compared the portion to the other Hainanese curry available at hawker centre, nothing very special. A bowl of curry chicken costs S$5 is quite expensive, have to add on S$0.50 for a plate of rice.

Very crowded market place if plenty of varieties and stall to choose from. The wait was alright, 3 to 4 minutes per customer/serving. Didn't have the personal liking on fried stuff however alot of people are ordering the fried pork chop curry rice. It's fried on the spot to ensure the tenderness and temperature. The curry vege can be ordered seperatEly 3bucks or added on to any main dish for 1bucks single serving. The curry pork was flavourful but a tad too chewy for my personal likely. Not too salty but very creamy which goes very well which the bread. Curry vege has a lighter brooth which is not as thick. The vegetables are not too soft overall and I would definitely recommend this add on. Overall took me 15mins to my food in a que of 4 person. Wait was pretty worth, deserving good food to kick off any off day meals.

Bought the chicken and vegetable curry. Chicken curry is typical Hainanese style- thick and creamy. Unfortunately it’s not very flavourful and is overly gluey/starchy. Chicken is soft and tender though. Vegetable curry is tasty. Good variety of vegetables that are cooked just right, neither too hard or mushy. Will probably skip the chicken curry, but will continue to buy the vegetable curry the next time.
