Jiu Jiang Shao La (九江燒臘) - 20 Ghim Moh Rd

One of the best roast meats there is. The char siew is very good, good mix of fat and tender. Not much of the char taste, but the salty flavour bursts in your mouth. The best thing tho, is the duck. The duck is bloody tender and the skin is slightly crispy. It is very flavourful as well. I notice that they season their meats very liberally, such that the meats can also flavour the rice. But on its own they might be too salty. The price is a steal, really, my duck n char siew rice is 4 dollar (asked for extra meat) but the queue is torturous... Took me 30 mins to get my plate, I think if it's only 15 mins queue I will definitely come again.

Plain rice is surprisingly nice, very rare for Shao La stalls. Roasted duck is not salty at all, but very fragrant for both the skin and meat. The watery level for the meat is just nice for me. Roasted pork is not salty either, fat portion is small. Cha Siew is the strongest in flavour, with a nice hint of alcohol, and some crispy burnt portions. All the three delights are roasted by the old couples. Wish this stall could be around all the time. The only drawback is the looong queue. Be prepared for 30 min queue during peak dining hours.

Awesome place to have roast meat & char siew (bbq pork) rice. The saltiness is the roast pork goes well with the char siew & sweet sauce. Not to mention the well matched chilli sauce spicy up the dish. I would skip the roast duck as the meat is tough with much tendons & bones making it a hassle to eat, needless to say enjoy it.

I Queued for an hour, since waited so long I had 1 char siew and roasted pork rice there and take away 5 packet ( while waiting I ask my neighbour ). Because waited for an hour just buy 1 portion not shiok right. Sorry, forgot to talk about the taste. It taste really Cantonese roast style like those in Hong Kong. Not like those roasted pork or char siew 加料 from Chicken rice store.

Queued for 40 mins on Sunday lunch time for a chance to try their roast meat. The roast duck is much better than the char siew and roast pork

Queued up 15mins for this really good roast duck and roast pork. Taste why it’s a 7/10 because the duck is a little dry inside. Roast pork was better and a 8/10. The chilli sauce, sweet sauce and duck sauce goes very well with all the meat. Best is is the price at $4 for a duck rice or $5 for duck, pork and char siew and the portion is very generous. This is a great value for money meal!

One of the better roasted duck and Char Siew I had in awhile. Just decided to join the long Q since the Char Kway Teow was closed. Worth a try
