Hakumai

We have a pleasant dinning experience in Hakumai Omakase. Chef Gary Ng is friendly and skilful. We chat as we eat. Sushi are yummy and unique. We had the best sushi ever although I am not a sushi lover. Thumb up and will visit again ?? Recommended ???Thank you Chef Gary ??

Went for the Omakase set. Very nice and value for money. Chief is very knowledgeable. He and his staff explain every dish to us. It allow us to understand each ingredients and the origin of the food. Will go again in future.

Best place for premium and great sushi and sashimi. Chef Gary will explain the dishes to us.. food are served based on season. Each bite will bring you to heaven.

We had the omakase special menu on a sat noon. The ingredients used were very fresh and overall we were very full when we left the restaurant! Special mention of the golden eyed snapper sushi and the saba & mackerel sashimi. Had a table by the counter and was kept entertained by Chef Gary and team.

I've tried several omakase places, but always coming back to Hakumai ? Don't expect a posh environment but a more laid-back experience where you can have fun dining. Sit by the counter and be entertained by Gary and his stories. Food is super good, as usual. Portions are also very generous! Too generous! Thank you Gary and team ??

Think I’m missing out on a few pictures but I just have to review this place. I rarely do reviews cause I think it’s rather a hassle and most popular places many people actually have done a review. Just felt this place deserves a shout out. I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner and I decided on this place cause most of the review said that the chef is friendly and very welcoming. Chef Gary is beyond just another friendly chef, he is unashamed of his craft and he connects really well with all the customers and not just us. He pays attention to everyone that is dining in. Now to the food. I felt like I had a roller coaster of a ride in my tongue. How dish is curated to a build up and ended on a high before a very calming and light soup comes and smoothen your palates and to end it all off ice cream with my favorite Japanese honeydew. Every dish was explained and shared the moment the food is served. My favorite was Shima-aji (striped jack) the flavors just balanced so amazingly. I can dive into each dish one by one but one can only experience what I have just experienced. No words can explain the roller coaster of a ride my tongue went through. On a side note, Chef Gary blessed us with A5 waygu sushi that’s not on his menu. It was heavenly!!! For price point I honestly think it’s worth it, I went to google what I was served and also the amount of food. By mid dinner I felt quite filled that’s how much food was served! I wonder if he made any money… hahaha. But I’m sure he made some but gosh it’s truly worth every cent. Do come and experience it yourself, my review does not do any justice to it at all.

Food is awesome, fresh, and you’re curious as to what is coming next. Had the Omakase special. Portion is generous and I almost couldn’t finish. Enjoyed sitting at the counter being engaged by Chef Gary. Will come back for more!

Had their signature omakase meal for a birthday dinner. Each dish tasted different (different textures etc.) and were really nice - a very well curated menu and Chef Gary is nice). Do come with a very empty stomach as i was already full mid way through the courses ? The only downside (which to me is big, because an omasake is an experience) is the unprofessional service by the restaurant's service staff. They immediately rushed to clear each course without asking me first, so i always felt rushed which ruined the whole experience.
