Good old school taste. Note while the stall opens daily, they are closed on 1st and 15th day of the lunar month.

Would prefer regular slices of lap cheong vs the chopped small pieces. This is the dry CKT.

One of my favourite Freid Kway Teow stall, if you like it more dried with a tinge of wok hey smell. Overall taste is very complete for a decent Fried Kway Teow. Owner used to run his business in a corner coffee shop in Maude Road. One man show, might be abit impatient at times when too busy, please bear with him. Eating his good food more important.

Chance upon this stall in Jalan berseh food centre that serves fried char kway teow. Apparently this place has been around 1972. A plate of char kway teow starts from SGD$3 onwards. Char Kway teow was pretty decent, balanced flavour and not overly sweet from the dark sauce. It has has nice wok hei to it. Last but not least, the ckt was not too oily.

Great Fried Kway Teow done the way I love it. I ordered the small portion and it came with lot of Kway Teow together with those juicy cockles, chinese susage, bean sprout and chilli. Best eaten while hot, the owner says, and it is good until everything finished off. At first bite, will love the noodles and its black sauce with the spicy chilli (optional). The cockles are reasonable sized and succulent indeed. All these for the price of $3.50. Worth it. Must try.

Surprised. Surprised. I ordered a white char kway teow (without sweet sauce) and it turned out to be wonderful. The lard, the cockles and the aroma made it all worthwhile to indulge. Diet can wait.

I liked the chewing texture of the kway teow and noodle, which thankfully didn't have any alkaline aftertaste. But if benchmarked against the best I've had, this cha kway teow won't come out tops. The wok hei, the aroma of lard, and the eggy taste was somewhat muted.

Medium size plate of char kway teow ($4) - the flavour was good but there were just a few cockles. The cockles were fresh, juicy and had the flavour of the sea. No extra cockles allowed. Closed well before 7:25pm on Sunday evenings at least.
