★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is another hidden gem around Joo Chiat area. It’s along Oman road and Crane Road junction. They were listed in Singapore Best Food 2017 but yet not many people know about it.
Actually their best food is not the noodles, but their dumplings (水饺)?!They probably have the best value for money dumpling in Singapore. For $3 dollars, you get 5 big dumplings, each comes with a full big peeled prawn inside. Or 3 dumplings with noodles. I like it dry with chilli. Their clear soup is delicious too, with a hint of fish stock! It’s one of those comfort food thingy that just makes you feel good and feel the ties to the neighbourhood.
By the way the Coffeeshop uncles can be hilarious in passing order from table to kitchen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super unassuming stall but the wanton mee is so darn good. Will try the dumpling noodles next time! The taste is so old school I thought I transcended back in time to when I was a kid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The dumplings are good but everything is a tad too salty.
The kopitiam transports you through time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden away off the main artery of Joo Chiat Road. This 20+ yr old noodle stall is a treasure in the East. Their shrimp dumpling noodle, wanton noodle & chicken strips hor fun is tops in terms of old school style flavour. Open daily except Mon & Fri. Operated by an elderly couple. The kopishop has an old days atmosphere not commonly found in SG. Certainly a nostalgic
experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spoilt for choice to get a good bowl of wanton noodles in the east. You almost can find fairly good bowl wanton noodles at all the hawker centres and coffee shops in this area.
The noodles were nicely done with a nice bite to it. Sauce used was a little darker than the usual ones but certainly tastier.
Wanton was also a little bigger than the usual ones and the soup was great!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in a quieter corner of Joo Chiat, this WTM stall is located in a corner coffeeshop. Manned by elderly uncle and aunties.
We were their last customers of the day. Decent WTM, rich sauce with chili. Char siew the signature bright red colour type, sweet. Wanton decent.
All in all a decent plate of WTM. Location very nostalgic, plus one star.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best wanton mee in the East, and in Singapore. The savoury, flavourful sauce is spot-on! The shrimps in the dumpling are big, succulent and fresh! Stall owner says his rest days are Monday and Friday. Starts selling from 6am till 1pm or so. Best brunch/breakfast/lunch in an idyllic setting. Generous portion size at only $3.50.
This wanton mee is no doubt a Comfort food, a go-to breakfast/brunch/lunch. Expect to wait for at least 15mins even if the coffeeshop is not packed.
