β β β β β Taste is normal & soup Is not hot enough. Lady was mass clearing used dishes (throwing food remains into bin) & then serve me with the same pair of gloves. Although sheβs not the one cooking but imagine she had picked up the utensils for me.

β β β β β Good decent prawn noodles with the traditional taste. Soup is above average with briny prawn umami and with prices between $4 to $6, it's the kind of staple hawker food that you can eat frequently. It's popular with the locals, and you can expect to wait up to 30mins, especially during the weekends.

β β β β β So happy to have discovered this place through Grab. This is one of the best and most fragrant prawn noodles Iβve tried, especially for the dry version, and soup is still provided even if you order the dry version on Grab. The soup is full of prawn-ey goodness.
Regular portion and already quite substantial with pork slices and prawn. Beware chilli for the dry version is very spicy though so do ask for less chilli if you are not able to take the heat!
Definitely recommend and will patronize again!

β β β β β Been eating this prawn noodle for at least 25years when it was still at the coffeeshop across the street together with fei fei wanton noodle and the porridge stall.
Basically it is a bowl of no frills old school prawn noodle with simple ingredient like sliced prawn and lean pork. One thing i didnt like was the noodle they used has the alkeline taste which is such a turn off.
One thing that sets them apart is that their broth is served pipping hot. Very hearty bowl of prawn noodle that i will still come back to patronize from time to time.

β β β β β Since this stall is within 10mins walk from home, i went to try. Tastes above average to me but my impression of the traditional prawn mee comes with spinach. This one only has bean sprouts so visual wise, it looks bland

β β β β β Absolutely phenomenal!

Iβm back again! My other parent was jealous he didnβt get to try it so here I am again. Iβm a fan of prawn noodles. Especially the traditional type. Those that offer big prawn, crayfish, pork rib optionsβ¦ IMO, donβt match up to stalls like these that do up a mean and good traditional prawn noodles. Regular small sea prawns with meat slicesβ¦ thatβs it! Prawns are nicely deshelled and deveined.
Come early. Order a bowl, sit down and enjoy Joo Chiat by the roadside as it wakes up. And get wowed by a simple hearty bowl of prawn noodles.

β β β β β Was having Char Kway Teow and the portion cannot fill my stomach. Decided to go for Prawn Noodles and I have seen good reviews. Ordered mixed Kway Teow and Yellow Noodles dry. The noodles are well cooked. Ingredients are fresh. The sauce is not well flavoured. Soup is salty and lacked of in-depth taste. $4 serving is above average.

β β β β β There is no lack of good food in Joo Chiat and at various price points that one can pick and choose depending on the mood and crave. And there is no need to travel too far for that good bowl of prawn noodle. While the look may not blow you away, the richness of the soup and the freshness of the ingredients certainly wow many repeat customers of this humble stall. Do try when you are around the corner.
