Homeground Grill & Bar - 1088 Serangoon Rd

Came here for a quick dinner before my jab. Service was very good. Food was decent though lacking in a few ways that impeded the experience here. Good service - staff were responsive, friendly and nice. Food was decent. We ordered pork belly as a side dish, along with fish & chips and the steak (with sweet potato fries as an add-on). Pork belly was crisp and decadent, very flavorful with the pink mayo sauce as well. Fish & chips - the fish was fresh, batter was crisp and a rather satisfying portion. In the words of my boyfriend, "The fish was amazing!" However, the fries were overly salted and inedible as a result. We had to literally scrape off the salt before eating it. Steak was a very thick cut. I ordered it in medium rare, which it was in the middle. At the sides however, the steak was overcooked to almost a well done. I suspect this may be due to the thickness of the cut. Altogether, it was a pleasant experience. I would return for the side dishes, maybe not the mains.

I rarely leave any review so when I do it is either really amazing or just down right terrible. The food and drinks was mediocre/ average Then surf and turf came and I thought I saw the prawn surfing, that's how "fresh" it is (Can take a look at the photo for more information) No compensation / apology was made when we told the staff. To make matter worse, we were here to celebrate my parents anniversary. Won't ever visit here again.

Great food, tasty cocktails ?& friendly ? service! Been here a couple of times pre-Covid. Tried the Restaurant Week dinner set menu today. Kudos for the grilled meats: pork belly, Guinness tenderloin & salmon were tasty. Will come back again.

Amazing place tucked in a corner between the Harry Potter cafe and Dim Sum 126. The steak was really well made, as were everything else I ate there--definitely coming back for more! It had such an aesthetic feel too; overall giving off modern vibes with its cool decorating techniques

The fish and chips was awful. When it was served, it looked so dark and charred that I thought it was burnt / over-fried. When I tried it, I knew I was right. The batter was over fried to the point that the colour was not just dark, it even tasted bitter. It was as though it had already been cooked prior but they had refried it to heat it again before serving. The steak and chicken wings were very mediocre for the price. Definitely overpriced for the food that tasted like something you can make at home. Unlikely to return again.

Finally able to dine-in at this restaurant. The food was amazing when delivered to us during circuit breaker and it was even better fresh from the kitchen. The prices are reasonable and food is made with love. Highly recommend the poutine fries.

Came here after a tough yoga session to re-fuel and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious but cheap the food was! Really enjoyed the steak and the sausages with truffle mash. Now I understand why it always seems crowded. Will come back again soon.
