Hougang Polyclinic (NHGP) - 89 Hougang Ave 4

I have been going to the this particular polyclinic since young and today(4 January 2022 and posting it on 5 January 2022)really changed my view on this clinic. Went to this clinic at 4.00pm ++ in the evening because of my diarrhoea, waited for 1 hour which is understandable since there’s a lot of patients in here. I have an outstanding bill earlier from my previous clinic session of $30.00 and I needed some form of help to pay for it, and I decided to meet a social worker for help. And I went to the self kiosk to pay for my bill. I have already inform the staff there (in her early 60s) that I wanted to pay for today’s clinic visititation and medications only, not the $30.00. To my surprised, when I put in cash (total of $25+++) she said there is no change! Her excuse was, “The machine doesn’t give change! DO YOU HAVE MONEY OR NOT!?” I was taken aback and I was like, “!???!!!! What? How could that be???” I was taken aback and proceeded to approach your staff counter. She explain to me that if I use self kiosk, I won’t have change (?!!!!?????) and she said that the kiosk is already closed. She then proceeded that the next time I want to pay by cash just come to the counter instead of going to the self kiosk. I was really disappointed. The auntie at self kiosk should have informed me earlier about all of this procedure first before making me go through all of this. Was I at fault? Yes I am for not knowing all of this. The least the staff would do should just explain to me. Just so disappointed. Edit: Counter staff asked me why I came after a few minutes after that kiosk auntie said that I can’t have my change back. Really don’t know what’s all of this. Really disappointing. No words could describe how I feel about all this. Just really disappointment. Why is it hard to give me back my $4? Unbelievable.

As compared to another nearby polyclinic this is a 5 star facility. Nice clean comfortable environment. A lot of planning has gone into their processes it’s very smooth and hassle free. Plenty of self payment kiosks makes it easy for you to pay and go without waiting for a cashier to process the payment. I visit every quarter for checkups and has no complaints except for the usual long waiting time.

Due to flu i arrived hougang polyclinic at 12:19pm, earlier than appointment time 12:30pm, the appointment changed to 4:30pm after ic scan, nobody informed me this changes. After harf hour i found this changes but service desk told me to go back home and come back after 3 hours even no patients any more that time, means 1-4pm all doctors don't need work,then how about the patients, they don't deserve a early notice?

I'm so impressed with their dental clinic. Clean, bright, advanced and modern. It's not a run down dental clinic! Registration cum payment was fast and smooth! It's cheap for Singaporean compared to all other dental clinic out there! Hougang Polyclinic is so much more better than TPY Polyclinic which is crowded and rather old setup.

We really can't relate to the negative reviews. Perhaps their expectations were not realistic. We had an excellent experience at this nice new clinic. Everything is organized and easy to navigate, with ample seating. Dr Krishna, Mr Bay and Dr Chua attended to us over two visits with care and patience, and we really appreciate it!

Brought my mother-in-law to this polyclinic to see doctor. We arrived in the morning but got a queue no till 12.20pm. When we arrived again at 12.00pm, our queue got called already. We managed to very quickly got back to the queue. We saw the doctor within 20mins and able to get a X-ray done immediately followed by another consultation after lunch. Very efficient. We are impressed.

Accompanied wife for medical check up. Sen by Dr Louis Chong. Professional, observant and caring. although he is busy but he didn't perfunctory. Good job. Great doctor.

The registration time from 7.30 am to 4.00 pm ( For walk in Patient ) 7.30 am to 4.30 pm ( For Appointment ) Saturday half day 7.30 am to 12.00 pm ( For walk in Patient ) 7.30 am to 12.30 pm ( For Appointment ) PS : patient who have appointment only can take the Q number 30 minutes before the appointment time to reduce the crowding in the polyclinic. Need to do the screening before entering polyclinic. And the staff will ask patient some questions before entering polyclinic.
