After service was terrible!! If you just need installation even though it is pricey it is not bad but don't expect them to follow up after or you will be slapped with extra costs. I bought a few UNICELL (to help expand wifi coverage) for $299 each and was asked to pay $250, 2 YEARS after purchasing to make changes to my own UNICELL that I should OWN. (Total bill was $30k including projector etc) They gave me an option to upgrade which they quoted to me for $250. It was just a click of button that was supposed to be GRANTED to me on purchase. Due to the extra cost, I wanted to just turn it off but guess what, it will be charged at $250 too! Imagine buying a router and being charged to turn off your router. I've asked if I could do it on my own and even sent pictures of my cables but they are not able to advise. Better off buying your own and having more control They also replied and I've broken down my responses below! Edit: Thanks for the reply owner! I understand you had to come down to reprogram etc in order to give us control but all these should be transparent to the customer upon purchase and they should be aware that they have no control over their unicell. They should own their unicell. I.e i signed up for cctv service and they taught us how to control and turn off and reassign etc rather than charging us again when we need changes to the device we BOUGHT. If I were to purchase a Google Nest right now, I will have full control over it. This is what it should be, transferring the ownership to us instead of withholding that information from us and charging us when we want to turn OFF the device or make changes to our OWN device. Also to break down your response: First for all, we set up your entire WiFi comprises of 3 access points a data switch more than 2 years ago. We quoted u $250 for going on site to do software upgrades because u say u feels that the speed is slower after u change your data provider. And u wanted to take control of the software, we need time to transfer and teach u how to use the software. I explained that to do that we also need to take out each access points in the ceiling and software upgrade them individually. It takes at least 40 mins to re program and re connect. To be fair, we have given u a few free Service visits since feb2018 . We are doing our best to please our customers but we also need to state the facts clearly. Cheers!

Was looking for a subwoofer to replace my faulty one. Went to Kec Sound and auditioned a few subwoofers. Mr Clarence was friendly and knowledgeable. He provided some suggestions to improve my current system too. Bought a SVS sub upon his recommendation. Good service!

I have been to Kec for many years now. Just upgraded my Denon to a processor / Amplifier unit. Always only the best advice from him. Clarence is a personality that grows on you. However if what you want is the best advice for a budget, then Clarence is the person to talk to. I tried to get a Dobly 7.1.4 but was advised to stay with a 5.1.4. He could have easily sold me what I don't need - but instead sold me a kit which is a VAST improvement over my previous kit. So yes I will always go see him for an upgrade. I walked a few shops before going in to see Clarence last week - just to see if they could do better - but sadly they did not match up. I got polite people who were just trying to sell their equipment. He never tries to sell me thing that will not match. I tried to get some SVS equipment that KEC were no longer selling or are agents for. Logically I was not able to get a demo since he would then be promoting the product for the distributor. While he maintained that the SVS were still a good buy, he also offered alternative for which he was a distributor and could provide full demo for. This is what I call being upfront. Eventually he recommended a kit which comprised of a Denon 3700 and a 9 channel amp. I tried to get the Denon 4700 instead but after a quick discussion about what my primary objectives were, he maintained that the Denon 3700/Onkyo Amp would be more than sufficient. That saved me a few hundred $$$. So thanks Clarence

I visited KEC Sound and Vision at the Adelphi to enquire about the SVS Triband Wireless Kit this morning. I asked the seller, a Singapore Chinese gentleman, what is the difference between this and the previous version - I understand the previous model is still in production and at a lower cost with good reviews. Upon asking the first question, I was immediately met with a rude and arrogant response. These are the exact words from this seller β€œS$279 a unit. I have sold a lot of previous model, all no issue and I can guarantee this new one also no issue. I am only left with 2 sets so you don’t buy also can" and he walked out of the store. I get a feeling he is either the store manager or the owner, Clarence Ng. It's really mind-blowing to witness this sort of behaviour in this digital era where everything is available online. I left the store and decided to buy a competitive product from Amazon Prime despite a higher cost. Why pay for a bad experience! #svs
